The Nypd Cuffs The Alleged Shooter Using The Officer’s Own Handcuffs After The Cop Is Shot

The NYPD sent a strong message after the apprehension of a hardened criminal in the cold-blooded murder of an off-duty police officer in Brooklyn.

On Saturday night, police apprehended Randy “Popper” Jones for the murder of Policeman Adeed Fayaz, the five-year soldier and father of young children. When they placed Randy “Popper” Jones in prison, they utilised the same handcuffs as Fayaz had used.

At a press conference on Tuesday, NYPD Chief of Investigations James Essig said, “We wanted them to know what they did to that cop.” The officer then handcuffed him. I believe it conveys an important message.

Earlier today, Jones was taken into custody at the NYPD 75th Precinct and charged with committing murder and attempted robbery, according to the NYPD.

The Real Deal

Hundreds of police lined the street as he was carried from the precinct to appear in Brooklyn Criminal Court.

Detectives were loading Jones into the rear of a police vehicle when he heard a call from his sister. We adore you, she yelled. Infinite love from us to you. Jones, his hands and ankles bound, said, “I know, I adore you too.”

Authorities say he lured the off-duty cop to a deserted street in East Brooklyn with a fake Facebook Market offer of a vehicle for purchase last Saturday and then opened fire, leading to the officer’s arrest on Monday. As of 2008, he already had a criminal record.

The 26-year-old officer was wounded in the head during the frantic robbery, and he passed away on Tuesday. Essig claims that Fayaz’s brother-in-law shot at the running Jones with the gun belonging to the victim.

On Monday, Jones, 38, was arrested after being followed to a motel in Rockland County. He was taken into custody in front of his partner and five children, ranging in age from 6 months to 11 years.

Police used Fayaz’s handcuffs on the suspect once he was taken into custody, according to Essig, with the police pointing to the suspect’s lengthy criminal record, which included 13 past arrests in the city of New York.

After Fayaz rescheduled a Friday meeting to buy a Honda Passport for $24,000, the cop and his brother-in-law drove separately to meet the shooter on Saturday, Fayaz alleged. Despite feeling ill, the police officer showed up to seal the deal on Saturday evening at 6:50.

In a press conference held at NYPD headquarters on Tuesday morning, Essig alleged that Jones led the two to an alley, where he said, “Are you gentlemen carrying a gun?” when preparing to put the cop inside a headlock.

Wearing a black overcoat and grey sweatpants, Jones aimed his weapon at the policeman’s temple and demanded payment. Essig claimed that Fayaz escaped when the would-be robber pointed his gun at Fayaz’s brother-in-law.

Jones allegedly then fired six shots, one of which struck Fayaz in the head. After the officer was shot, his brother-in-law reached for his hip and fired back five times, missing the assailant each time.

The suspect, whose name was given to Essig, allegedly drove away in his mother’s black BMW.

According to police sources, Jones was scheduled to appear in Brooklyn Civilian Court on Tuesday evening for his arraignment on accusations of attempted armed robbery and murder.

Police Benevolent Association chairman Patrick Lynch expressed his gratitude to the detective community, saying, “We are genuinely thankful to our detective colleagues and brothers for carefully pulling this case together now and tracking this horrible criminal to his hiding location.”

He went on to say that the legal system “needs to take up and return repercussions.” It should send a message to those who would attack police or innocent New Yorkers, to paraphrase.

A source informed the Daily News that Jones had a lengthy criminal record that included charges for strangling, grand theft, and aggravated harassment, most of which occurred in Brooklyn when he was in his early 20s. In Virginia, he pleaded guilty to “carnal knowledge” of a minor in 2015.

It was in his West Harlem neighbourhood, the 25th Precinct, that he was jailed for strangulation in 2014. In the same year, Jones was arrested for grand theft and petit theft, and in 2019, he was charged with criminal trespass and driving while unlicensed.
