Doctors at the adjacent Woodhull Hospital discovered the man had suffered a shattered nose and eyeball socket after the attack, as reported by NBC 4 New York.

The suspect, Laytee Knox Hundley, 31, has been identified by the NYPD, and they are currently developing a hunt for him.

Two Men Similarly Beet Up A 71-Year-Old Guy Last Week

Police in Philadelphia reported late last week that they are looking for seven teens suspected of killing a 73-year-old man last month by assaulting him with a traffic cone.

On Saturday, representatives from the Philadelphia Law Enforcement reported that James Lambert was assaulted by a group of five teenagers on Cecil B. Moore Boulevard in North Philadelphia early on the morning of June 24.

The group included four males and three girls. According to investigators, the teenagers repeatedly assaulted him with “items,” sending him to the earth and injuring his head.

The police revealed surveillance footage showing a group of youngsters chasing and throwing an object at the victim, which looks to have been a traffic cone.

One of the teens can be seen chasing the other across the street before swinging at him with the signal cone. Almost immediately, another adolescent picked it up and beat him again, then chased him onto the sidewalk and whacked him a third time.

Lambert, who is obscured in the footage, was reportedly taken to the hospital but later died from his wounds the next day.

On Saturday, we made many failed attempts to contact Lambert’s family.

We don’t know what precipitated the attack or if the youngsters even knew the victim. However, for the next 20 minutes or so, the youths were visible on surveillance footage, one of them on a scooter as they aimlessly explored the neighbourhood.

According to Philadelphia’s WCAU, the victim’s relatives saw Lambert, aka “Simmie,” hours before the attack and were shocked to learn that children had attacked him.

The police estimated the ages of the Black teenagers involved. The police only provided a vague description, saying that one of the teens would have a blond patch in their hair.

Members of the family expressed their deep sorrow to the news outlet.

The Philadelphia Law Enforcement reports that there have been 281 homicides in the city as of July 8th, 2022, a drop of 4% when compared to the same date in 2021.

2021 was the deadliest year in Philadelphia’s history. Two prominent Philadelphia Democrats, White County Attorney Larry Krasner and Black ex-mayor Michael Nutter, engaged in a heated dispute over police tactics and criminal justice.
