Season 2 Of Mieruko Chan – There Is Finally Reason To Look Forward To The Next Episode In This Series

The Winter 2022 anime adaption of Mieruko-chan was much anticipated. This spooky slice-of-life horror comedy starring the ghost-seeing heroine Miko and the ghost-attracting protagonist Hanna finished with a strong 7.5 on MyAnimeList, and it has delighted spectators with scary hauntings and humorous predicaments.

Miko begins seeing terrible ghosts often, but she goes about her daily life as if nothing has changed. As other people, such the pre schooler Yulia and the proprietor of a fortune teller business named Mitsue, take note, things begin to change.

Even if the emotional arc of Zen, Miko’s substitute teacher, is resolved by the end of Season 1, there are still many unanswered topics that could be addressed in Season 2.

Confirmed: When Will Mieruko Chan Second Season Be Available To Watch On Netflix?

Most mangaka favour the tried and true isekai or shonen route, therefore horror is still mostly unexplored in anime. But every once in a while, a one-off horror anime comes along and shows us exactly why more people should be doing horror anime.

Tomoki Izumi’s Mieruko chan is a scary anime about a high school student named Miko Yotsuya who has visions of ghosts and whose only source of fun is watching late-night horror movies on television.

She is able to detect their existence in the human world, and she often does so when she is near her best friend Hana Yurikawa. She bravely decides to ignore these ghosts and carry on with her normal high school existence.

The show is on whether or not Mieruko can go on living her normal life with all of these ghosts following her.

After the success of the first season, viewers have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Mieruko Chan, season 2. Find out whether the series has been picked up for a second season by reading on.

Expectations And Plot Details For Mieruko Chan Series 2

The first season of Mieruko Chan concluded with “The Girl Who Sees, Mieruko-chan,” a lighter episode with a cliffhanger. By killing his mother’s spirit, Zen is finally able to put his past behind him. While Miko works out a plan for Zen to acquire a recently rescued kitten, his beloved pet’s soul rests easy.

Police have set up missing person posters after Zen assaults a guy they believe attacked pets. Miko chooses to show her appreciation to the temple spirits for their assistance, but the spirits become enraged and attempt to consume her. In the morning, she recalls the dream as nothing more than that—a nightmare.

After some time, Miko learns to ignore the ghosts, but she is haunted by the question of why she’s unable to see them. As she and her friends Hana and Yulia make their way home, we observe that the maidens of the shrine are following closely after.

The second season of Mieruko Chan will continue directly from the conclusion of the first. There will be a new stalker character featured in the manga that Miko will be interested in learning more about. A magician who can see ghosts and ward them off with magical stones will be the stalker.

Season 1 ended with Mitsue fleeing to the country after she closed her shop, but in Season 2 of Mieruko Chan, she would make a triumphant return. If Mitsue is indeed a being from the underworld, then Miko will learn through her that maidens come from a supernatural dimension.

Those three damsels are following Miko because she has used up her three wishes. The second season will once again centre on their showdown.

Season one of Mieruko chan left many questions unanswered. For example, we are never told how Miko s’ father died, even though his ghost is said to haunt the house.

Second, the show never addresses why Yuka can only see auras and Miko is able to observe the ghostly apparition itself since their powers are so different. This question will be answered and the power dynamic between these two will be explained in Season 2.

As for the cat killer, Zen was tasing him the last time we saw him, so his whereabouts are also a mystery. Season 2 should reveal what happened between Zen and Yajiro Tanka.

There is less background on the shrine maidens or the rationale behind their granting of “just three” wishes to Miko. After nearly devouring Mieruko during her initial season, they are prime candidates for the villainous role in Mieruko chan’s second season.

The End Of The Season Sets Up Season 2

Mitsue, proprietor of the fortune teller store, is shown getting a picture of Miko & Hanna from such an unknown sender in the last moments of the first season.

Mitsue, or Grandmother, has been seen only briefly because she has hidden away in the countryside after closing her shop. Yet, this brief appearance has left viewers eager for her return in Season 2.

As Miko returns to town, she plans to thank the spirits of the Shrine for saving her by bringing them some offerings. As she realises it was all a dream, she goes on with her life as usual, ignoring the ghosts for her own safety.

However, she does express gratitude towards her friends Hanna and, more recently, Yulia, for helping to lighten the load. The ghosts of the shrine are seen watching Miko from a distance, suggesting that they are not yet finished with her.

Indeed, Miko is still baffled as to the origins and scope of her abilities.

There is no explanation for why ghosts hurt her once they learn she could see them.

Why did the spirits of the Shrine come to her aid, and who are they? Is there a chance that Hanna will learn that Miko has a paranormal ability?

When Season 2 premieres, maybe we’ll get answers to all of these questions and more. At the time of this writing, no official announcements have been made, but fans of the manga can hold out hope that the anime will continue where it left off.
