It’s been reported that an off-duty NYPD cop was shot and badly injured in Brooklyn. According to CBS2, credible sources reported Monday night that an individual had been arrested.
Indictments have not been handed out as of yet. The gunshot occurred on Ruby Street, close to Linden Boulevard in East New York, at around 7 p.m.
The 26-year-old police officer had gone there to purchase a vehicle he had seen advertised on Facebook Marketplace when, according to authorities, the seller grabbed a revolver and attempted to rob him.
It is not believed by investigators that the suspect was aware that the wounded was an NYPD officer.
The police officer has been on the job for five years and is currently assigned to patrol. He is reportedly from Deer Park on Long Island, is married, and has children, but the NYPD has yet to publicly disclose his identity.
At this time, charges have not been filed, but the 75th Precinct is still questioning the suspect.
