Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2: Find Out When Will It Premiere And What To Expect From The Show!

Finalizing production on season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen in 2019, we can now confirm a 2023 premiere date. In addition, we now know the (estimated) number of episodes to expect in the upcoming season and have been treated to a teaser for the new season.

In need of a crash course before then? See here for a full rundown of Season 2’s confirmed content. We’ve also looked at the canonical texts in order to make educated guesses about what might happen next.

That’s only the beginning, though; here, you’ll learn everything we know about season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen. If you’re interested in exploring the medium further, we’ve compiled a list of the top 15 anime shows currently streaming online.

Date Of Season 2 Of Jujutsu Kaisen’s Release

The second season of Jujutsu Kaisen will premiere in July 2023 and run through the rest of the year.

Because of the prolonged run, we anticipate the new season to go for at least 20 episode, maybe more. The first season included 24 episodes.

Narrative Of Jujutsu Kaisen Seasons 2

Following the events of Death Painting Arc (Chapters 55–64 in the manga), the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen came to a close. The first arc of the season two will be based on Gojo’s past, which spans chapters 65-79 of the manga.

That’s about a mission Gojo and Geto did in the past, where they escorted the Star Plasma Vessel into Tengen, and, you guessed it, Gojo’s past.

The second season of Jujutsu Kaisen will feature an adaptation of the Shibuya Disaster (chapters 79-136). We’re not entering into spoiler zone there, don’t fear, but the Shibuya Disaster Arc basically revolves around a scheme to imprison off Goto, pushed by Gojo & his newly cursed alliance.

That’s guaranteed to run for two full courses, so the future season will include anything from twenty-four to twenty-six episodes.

In need of a quick recap of recent events? Following their victory over Eso and Kechizu, the Cursed Wombs, Yuji and Nobara reunite with Megumi. Sukuna, however, swallows the finger (thanks to an anime-style mouth in Yuji’s palm) and takes a small but significant step toward regaining his strength.

That evil will be dealt with in the upcoming season, along with the evil of Choso, the third member of the Cursed Womb triplet, who has joined forces with Geto and Mahito.

Also, there’s the fact that there’s a mole at Jujutsu High, and that Utahime is hot on the trail of the treacherous wizard. Also, that will be a major focus of the upcoming season.

Season 2 ends with Gojo inviting Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara (together with Maki and Panda) to take part in a special assignment after they are recommended for advancement to Grade 1 Sorcerers.

Whose Responsibility Is It To Produce Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2?

In Season 2, Jujutsu Kaisen will once again be animated by MAPPA. Whether or not Sunghoo Park, who directed the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen and the pilot episode of Jujutsu Kaisen 0, would return to direct the second season is currently unknown.

At the moment, Park is set to helm two different original anime projects, both of which are being developed by his production company E&H Production as well as Sola Entertainment for Adult Swim’s Toonami programming block: the former is titled Ninja Kamui, and the latter is codenamed “Project Bullet/Bullet,” and both are set to air on Disney Plus in Japan.
