Released for the first time in the spring of 2021, Wise Man’s Grandchild (Kenja no Mago), also known as The Sage’s Grandson, is a popular fantasy anime. Tsuyoshi Yoshioka and Seiji Kikuchi adapted their light book into an animation that premiered in April 2019 on numerous regional channels such AT-X, ABC, Tokyo MX, and BS11.
Additionally, it has been licenced by Funimation and Crunchyroll, which has contributed to its global success. Furthermore, Hulu TV airs it all over the world. The popular Japanese animation studio Silver Link, which brought us Bofuri, also created Wise Man’s Grandchild. The series’ first season concluded on June 26, 2019, with the airing of the final episode, “And So, Off into the World…” It’s intriguing to think about whether or not there will be a second season of the show and when that may premiere.

Diseum, monarch of the Earlshide Kingdom, suggests that Shin enrol in his Magic Academy. He further promises not to employ Shin in any form of political struggle. In the capital, Shin protects Maria and Sizilien from criminals. One day he’d start a group with his friends. Indeed, sorcery and magic abounded in this realm.

When will Kenja no Mago Season 2 be Released?
To find out if Season 2 of Wise Man’s Grandchild will air in 2023 and when it will likely premiere, we need to consider two things. The first is the quality of the original material, and the second is the success of the first season financially. There is no known release date for Season 2 of Wise Man’s Grandchild as of January 2023, and there probably won’t be a Season 2 of Wise Man’s Grandchild at all.
That means season 2 of Kenja no Mago will never air, and the reasons are straightforward. The money is the driving factor in the instance of Wise Man’s Grandchild. The low ratings of the first season prevented the network from setting a premiere date for Season 2 of Wise Man’s Grandchild.
For financial reasons, a new season of an anime can only be produced if the previous one was successful. As we saw with Wise Man’s Grandchild, that was not the case. As profits are the primary concern, many anime programmes are cancelled after one season.
The manga is the only somewhat successful aspect of this series, and it isn’t enough to warrant a continuation. In 2020, a mobile game based on Wise Man’s Grandchild was released, although it only generates $4,995 in monthly revenue.
When even the mobile game fails to take off, there’s no point in developing a second season. A second season would have been announced by now if the mobile game had generated even modest profits, but alas, this was not the case. Thus, it is not hard to comprehend why the show was never renewed for a second season. Just isn’t worth it in the eyes of the production committee.
Main Characters of Kenja no Mago Season 2
Yuusuke Kobayashi portrayed Shin in the original Japanese animation (via Myanimelist). But Shin isn’t on his escapades alone; he’s joined by a cast of characters from the same magical academy. The prince of the land, August von Earlshide (Shouhei Komatsu), and Shin’s best friend and love interest, Sicily von Claude (Rina Honizumi), are both enrolled at the same academy. Daman Mills, Brandon McInnis, and Lindsay Seidel portray these roles in the English dub.
There are many other characters in Shin’s odd fantasy realm outside the primary trio. Such figures include Melinda Bowen (Gara Takashima/Cynthia Cranz), Shin’s current magical tutor and guardian, and Merlin Wolford (Yuusaku Yara/Bruce R. Elliot), Shin’s first magical instructor and father figure.
It’s possible that Season 2 of “Wise Man’s Grandchild” will feature all of these characters and more. There has been no announcement regarding the introduction of new characters or the performers who will be providing their voices.

Not much is known about the second season of the anime TV series. But we do know that the first season had a mystical beach volleyball scene. We hope that the further sunscreen antics, breast suffocations, and delinquent Grandpa fishing that are detailed in manga chapter 26 can be included in the sequel.
