The incident that led to the charges occurred in March of 2022. According to the authorities, Afonseca was travelling on Blue Hill Avenue at speeds of up to 107 miles per hour when his pick-up truck crashed

A number of injuries were sustained by Michael McGrath Jr., including fractures to his back, internal injuries, and wounds to his face. A significant operation was performed on him while he was a patient at Boston Children’s Hospital, where he stayed for eight days.

Michael McGrath Jr.’s mother, Amy Moody McGrath, revealed to The Patriot Ledger that Michael McGrath Srfather .’s was able to turn the steering wheel of their truck just before the collision, protecting their son from the impact of the most severe part of the disaster.

According to the documents filed in Quincy District Court, McGrath Jr. reported to the police that he lifted his head just in time to see headlights directed straight at him before hearing his father say “Oh s***” and turning the wheel to the right.

Amy Moody McGrath recalled her husband as being a witty, caring, and hands-on husband and father. He did a lot with their children while also balancing a career in commercial real estate. Amy Moody McGrath remembers him fondly.

“He was literally everything to both of us. We were married and had children after being together for more than two and a half decades. “We had waited our entire lives for that moment,” McGrath said in March.

“He was very supportive of my profession, and he was the major person here at home on a day-to-day basis,” I said. “He was very supportive of my career.” There is a significant void in our family, as my son pointed out before. It’s not even remotely fair.

She referred to the fact that her kid was not also killed in the accident as a “miracle.” About three weeks after the incident, he went back to class at Xaverian Brothers High School, and it was only a few days after his father’s wake and funeral that he did so.
