Aliana was Randazzo, 25, married J.R. Wills, 27, fell in infatuation with micro studio homes in midtown Manhattan while they were researching places to live in the Big City.
Randazzo used StreetEasy to locate a rent-stabilized 80×150 square foot micro-studio, which she plans to move into around August 2021. The monthly rent was $650.

Wills paid a total of $2,874 up advance for his move, including a broker’s charge of $1,500, the first the month’s rent of $687, and the last month’s rent of $687.
“I stumbled onto the micro-studio without actively seeking one. “It sounded interesting, so I figured why not give it a shot?” says Wills. “The window was visible to me. Everywhere you looked, natural light flooded in.

When he first saw the place, he was surprised by how little it was. “I wanted to make an effort living in this neighborhood, but it was a bit of a shock,” he remarked. No matter the size, any place may be transformed into a cosy abode. You need to invest some heart into it.

Though some may argue they couldn’t handle it, Wills thinks everyone should try living in a tiny house so they can learn to appreciate the big things in life.
“Now that I’m no longer constantly strapped for cash, I can afford to go out to restaurants whenever the mood strikes. Cost is $687 instead of $2,000. So I feel like the city is more accessible to me now,” Wills continued.
