A crime was committed in the 3400 block of Croffut Place. After receiving a call of a shooting, the police arrived to look into the incident. When they arrived, they found an adult male suffering from a single gunshot wound. The victim’s non-life threatening injuries was treated at a local hospital.

Hickman stated that the injured individual, who was later determined to be Reekey Garner of Northeast District of Columbia, was sent to a local hospital for medical attention for his wounds. He later died. The killing of Garner was the 203rd person to be murdered in the District of Columbia this year.
