Operating Room Hospital For Plastic Surgery At Meridian

In 1990, Dr. Stephen W. Perkins, a facial plastic surgeon with extensive training and experience, established the Meridian Plastic Surgery Center.

He runs the show at this sterile, accredited, and licensed outpatient surgical facility in the roles of both President and Medical Director.

As one of the first facilities of its sort in the United States, this plastic surgery clinic in Indianapolis is a first for the city.

Both facial plastic surgeons and general plastic surgeons can be found under one roof at the Meridian Plastic Surgery Center.

It features three operating rooms and a patient overnight stay space, and it is a fully accredited, modern surgery center.

The Meridian Plastic Surgery Center was founded with the goal of providing a private, stress-free, and personalized surgery experience to each and every one of their patients.

The doctors and nurses here are dedicated to giving patients the best cosmetic, plastic, and reconstructive surgery and care possible.

The center has received approval from the Indiana State Board of Health, is recognized by Medicare, and has been given accreditation

All of the doctors on staff are experts in their specialties, whether they’re surgeons or anesthesiologists.

Meridian Plastic Surgeons is a cosmetic surgery practice located in the surgery facility; its founder and current president is Dr. Perkins.

For anyone interested in learning more about facial plastic surgery, MPSC, a national teaching and research hub, is an excellent option.

Over his 31 years of service to the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Dr. Perkins has directed a number of fellowship programs.

Each year, he’s spent time mentoring a facial plastic and reconstructive surgery Fellow (selected from around the United States) to help them hone their craft and have access to cutting-edge information and resources.

Dr. Perkins and his colleagues are actively involved in the plastic surgery training program at Indiana University School of Medicine, and he is a frequent guest lecturer at conferences across the world.

Furthermore, MPSC has traditionally served as a hub for anyone interested in participating in research pertaining to a wide range of plastic surgery techniques. As an FDA Investigator, Dr. Bruce Van Natta has participated in numerous breast implant clinical trials.

Comparing The Present With The Past

When Dr. Perkins first purchased the land where MPSC now stands, an old farm house stood there, and its doors opened to reveal 15,000 square feet.

In 1997, it had a major expansion and renovation that brought its total square footage to about 16,000. And the number of people working there has increased by more than 100% in the last 30 years.

Although Dr. Perkins had the initial idea for the clinic, additional plastic surgeons like his practice associates Drs. Bruce Van Natta, Christine Kelley, and Michael Sadove have contributed to its ongoing success.

Patients of plastic surgeons Barry Eppley, MD, and Mark Hamilton, MD (who was Dr. Perkins’ Facial Plastic Surgery Fellow in 1997) opt to have their procedures done at MPSC because of the high level of expertise and experience of the surgeons there.

Even now, the center still has a small number of workers who were there when it first opened.

Potential Outcomes In The Future

Dr. Perkins hopes to see the MPSC expand in the future with the addition of fresh, younger surgeons and the development of new technologies.

“In today’s environment, having plastic surgery is seen as completely normal. The Baby Boomer generation is still a sizable segment of the patient population, but younger people are also increasingly opting for medical interventions.

Many patients express a desire to seem as healthy and youthful as they feel. It’s important for a professional to avoid looking disheveled and exhausted.

In fact, men make about 23% of our patient base. Dr. Perkins predicts that the need for services like Zoom and others that provide online video conferences will increase.
