Bronx Man Fatally Shot By Gunman During Spat With His Child’s Mother

According to police sources, a man was shot and killed in the Bronx on Wednesday after an argument with the mother of his child.

At 8:50 in the morning, Marquis Lane, 31 years old, was shot in the chest near Park Ave. and E. 167th St., just a few blocks from his Morrisania home. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots on Tuesday, police said.

A man who knew the mother of his child reportedly stormed up to the couple and started shooting while they were arguing on the sidewalk.

Lane was rushed to Lincoln Hospital in an attempt to save his life, but it was too late.

Authorities were searching for the shooter on Wednesday. Police have also said that Lane’s ex-girlfriend vanished and are looking for her as a “person of interest” in the case.

The incident occurred on Varet Street near Williamsburg Charter High School at around 2:00 p.m.

At the intersection of Varet and White streets, police say they received a report of a large fight involving approximately 15 young males.

Someone pulled a gun and shot at the victims while they were struggling to protect themselves.

Students were “just yelling at each other,” student Latara Little said. One of them fumbled and dropped their bag just as they were about to reach their destination.

When the shooting started, Elizabeth Caldera was waiting to pick up her son.

She described the noise as “popping sounds” similar to those of fireworks, saying that it occurred three or four times.

Three people were injured: a 37-year-old school employee was shot in the neck, a 15-year-old girl was shot in the thigh, and a 17-year-old boy was also shot in the thigh.

Both teenagers were taken to Bellevue Hospital, while the man was taken to Elmhurst.

At this time, it appears that none of the injuries are life-threatening.

A stick or 2×4 was mentioned by authorities, but no one reported being struck by one and seeking medical attention.

According to the police, the suspect managed to get away.

There have been no arrests made, and no weapons have been found.

It is still unclear what caused the fight and whether or not the victims were intended targets.

Meanwhile, a statement was released by school administrators promising cooperation with the investigation and a meeting with government officials this week to discuss the recent increase in violence.

Disbelief Sweeps Over A Distraught Family

Rosa Parraz, 72, Eladio Parraz, Jr., 52, Jennifer Analla, 49, Marcos Parraz, 19, Alissa Parraz, 16, and Nycholas Parraz, 10 months, were named as the victims by the sheriff’s office on Tuesday.

Boudreaux stated that the shooters “had no reason” to take the life of the young mother and her child.

“Without a shadow of a doubt, the presence of his mother was comforting to this baby boy of 10 months. Aborting a baby was wrong, but they did it anyway “Those were his exact words.

It was revealed by Samuel Pina that Alissa was his granddaughter and that little Nycholas was his great-grandson.

On Monday, he commented to The Associated Press, “I can’t wrap my head around what kind of monster would do this.”

Pina stated that her father’s uncle, her father’s cousin, her grandmother, and her great-grandmother were all murdered in Goshen, where Parraz and her baby had been living.

At 3:38 a.m. on Monday, a caller reported hearing gunshots at a home in the town of Goshen, located about 170 miles (273.59 kilometers) north of Los Angeles. At first, the number of shots reported made it seem like an active shooter situation.

Someone who was hiding on the premises was identified as the caller. Boudreaux reported that when deputies arrived at the scene seven minutes later, they discovered three bodies: two in the street in front of the house and one on the doorstep.

The deputies entered the house and discovered more bodies, including the grandmother. The teen mother and her infant were located down the block.

According to forensic evidence, she had tried to flee the scene before the shooter stood over her and fired multiple shots into her head.

The family “was obviously a target,” he said.

As a result of their survival, three individuals will be interviewed by law enforcement. One of them hid in the house while the murders were going on.

“He was so terrified that all he could do was hold the door and pray he wasn’t the next victim,” Boudreaux said.
