There will not be a third season of Bridgerton available on Netflix in January of 2023. One of the most anticipated new releases of the holiday season is the third season of the critically acclaimed regency drama, which premiered on Christmas Day, 2020. The third season will centre on the romance between Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Daniel Radcliffe) (Luke Newton).
Unfortunately for you, season 3 of Bridgerton will not be arriving on our televisions in the month of January, so you can say goodbye to Lady Whistledown and the latest tonne gossip for now.
There will definitely be a third season of Netflix’s Bridgerton, and work on it has already begun. Filming began in July 2022, and while official details on the forthcoming season are scant, we do have some insight.
Netflix has released some information about the upcoming third season, including the identities of the new cast members and a general description of the season’s storyline.
Penelope Featherington’s (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton’s (Luke Newton) love stories will be featured this season. From the sounds of Julia Quinn’s fourth novel, “Romancing Mr. Bridgerton,” the lives of the Regency-era Bridgerton family are about to get very interesting.

What is in Season 3 of Bridgerton?
Season 3 will focus on Lady Whistledown and her romantic entanglements as recently reported.
The revelation was announced by Penelope Featherington herself, Nicola Coughlan, on Sunday during Netflix’s FYSEE panel.
She said in season three that “Colin and Penelope’s love tale” would be told. “Like Lady Whistledown, I have been holding a secret for quite some time and I can confirm to you all that season three is Colin and Penelope’s love story,” she stated. As early as two weeks into season two, I was already keeping that secret.
Throughout the first two seasons, Penelope makes it apparent to the audience that she has feelings for her close friend Colin Bridgerton (played by Luke Newton), but she never tells him. Yet, it seems like at the end of season 2 Colin is starting to see Penelope in a new light, realising that she has always been there for him.
The Cast of Bridgerton Season 3
A number of the series’ original cast members, including Jonathan Bailey, Adjoa Andoh, Jessica Madsen, Harriet Cains, Polly Walker, Emma Naomi, Luke Thompson, Hugh Sachs, Bessie Carter, Ruth Gemmell, Golda Rosheuvel, Claudia Jessie, and Martins Imhangbe, have all confirmed their return for season two.
Simone Ashley has stated that she will be returning to the show as Kate, who is now the Lady of House. Ruby Stokes, who formerly played Francesca, has moved on to star in Lockwood & Co. on Netflix, and Hannah Dodd has been cast in the role.

Simone Ashley has stated that her character Kate, who is now the Lady of House, will be returning to the show. Ruby Stokes, who played Francesca up until now, has left the show to star in Lockwood & Co. on Netflix, and Hannah Dodd will take her place.

When will season 3 of Bridgerton be released?
A third season of Bridgerton will not premiere on Netflix until at least 2023. At some point in 2023, probably in the summer or fall, the series will return to Netflix.
Because filming won’t wrap until the end of the year and then proceed into post-production, when the special effects and visual effects are created, we may have to wait until the summer.
It should be noted that Jess Brownell has taken over as the new showrunner for Season 2 after the departure of Chris Van Dausen. The show has decided to keep Van Dusen aboard as an executive producer.
What do the actors say about Bridgerton season 3 so far?
While we’re still mourning the end of season two, we’re glad to report that there’s plenty of good news coming from the cast of Bridgerton about season three. Hannah Dodd, who has been cast as Francesca Bridgerton and who has spoken out about the “steaminess” of upcoming episodes, adds to the information provided by Simone Ashley.
In the middle of May 2022, Hannah was introduced as the replacement for Ruby Stokes, who had to quit the role of Francesca owing to schedule conflicts. Hannah said to Page Six, “Francesca’s book is like a total blend of the both [steamy and painful].”
Continued, “Being a huge fan of Bridgerton, my initial reaction was “Bring on the steaminess,” but now I find myself saying, “I don’t want to do that.” I want to do it for the viewers, but the thought of actually doing it is terrifying.”
