American professional basketball player Jackson Thomas “Buddy” Boeheim (born November 11, 1999) is currently on a two-way contract with the NBA’s Detroit Pistons and the NBA G League’s Motor City Cruise. An A.C.C. star, he suited up for Syracuse Orange (ACC). Jim Boeheim, a legendary figure in the world of basketball, is his father.
NBA action resumes on Monday night with the Dallas Mavericks playing the Detroit Pistons in Texas. Both teams have released their injury reports before of the encounter (updated as of 3:30 Eastern Time).

Boeheim started the season off with a win over LAFAYETTE, where he scored 18 points and dished out five assists. Preseason First Team All-ACC Vote… Before the season started, the Jerry West Shooting Guard Award had a preliminary list of 20 Division I players, and Boeheim was one of them. Additionally, he has been placed on the early season watch lists for the NABC Player of the Year, the Naismith Trophy, and the Wooden Award.
In the Orange’s home victory over DREXEL, he scored 23 points to lead all scorers. Boeheim played the most minutes (39), scored the most points (20), and pulled down the most rebounds (3) in the team’s loss over VCU in the Battle 4 Atlantis. In the home triumph over INDIANA, Boeheim poured in 27 points and handed out eight assists in double overtime. When Orange triumphed over BROWN, he scored 28 points.
Boeheim scored 21 points on the road at VIRGINIA TECH, including four 3-pointers. In a win over BOSTON COLLEGE on home court, he dropped 18 points and added five steals. In the victory over GEORGIA TECH, Boeheim scored 15 points and dished out four assists. When playing against NOTRE DAME, he scored 20 points, had one block, and dished out two assists. He scored 23 points and threw out three assists to lead the Orange past DUKE.

Latest Match Of Buddy Boeheim
Boeheim (toe) logged 22 minutes Thursday for the G League’s Motor City Cruise, scoring 17 points (6-13 FG, 5-11 3Pt), adding 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks in a 127-117 loss to the South Bay Lakers.
One of the Pistons’ two dual-threat players, Boeheim had not played in the G League since December 20 due to a toe injury. Boeheim has seen little action in his rookie season with the Pistons, totaling just one minute at the NBA level.
After missing a month’s worth of action, he made his return to action on Thursday and appeared to be on a light minutes restriction, but he should see more playing time for Motor City going forward. As long as Detroit has most of its important wing players available, Boeheim is unlikely to earn an appointment back to the NBA squad, therefore he will remain on assignment in the G League while the Pistons play the Bucks on Monday.
