The Real Reason Kanye West Was Permanently Banned From ’Saturday Night Live’

Certainly, Kanye West makes his own rules in life. The “Stronger” singer, who is in the midst of a bitter divorce battle with ex-wife Kim Kardashian, has been embroiled in numerous scandals over the years, the most famous of which being his meltdown during Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

It seems like his supporters forgive him for his wild behavior just because he’s Kanye, yet no matter how much negative attention the father of four would get, he would always manage to make a spectacular comeback. However, the SNL producers would disagree, since they decided to blacklist the rapper after his controversial performance in 2018.

After Ariana Grande had to cancel her September 29 performance to grieve for her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller, who had passed away earlier that month, Kanye West was called upon to take her place.

Even while the concert’s producers had some idea of what they were getting themselves into when they asked the Grammy winner to run the show, no one could have anticipated the level of chaos that ensued. In brief, here’s what’s going on…

Why Did Kanye West Get Banned?

Producers were apparently caught off guard by West’s last-minute set alterations, which featured a rant about Donald Trump while he was wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat, as reported by Radar Online.

It came as a complete surprise to everyone at SNL that West would pull such a fast one on them, especially given the show’s long-standing animosity toward the former “Apprentice” star and his political views.

A number of crowd members began booing as West resumed his outburst.

They say the whole thing was such a disaster for everyone involved that the show’s producers have permanently blacklisted West.

After his wife officially filed for divorce back in February, being barred from SNL is arguably the least of West’s troubles right now.

Joint custody of their four children North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm has been agreed upon, and Kardashian is also anticipated to retain the use of the couple’s $80 million Hidden Hills mansion.

Though she is no longer dating West, KKW creator Kim Kardashian has shown her support by showing up to both of the listening parties for his long-awaited (and delayed) tenth studio album, Donda.

The two are clearly committed to maintaining their tight friendship despite the challenges of sharing parental responsibilities for their children.
