An emotional posting to social media from her family announced the death about an 8-year-old girl who ended up winning heart and soul during her battle with stage 4 cancer and became the subject of #MollyStrong texts in the Chicago metropolitan area and elsewhere.
At 7:42 pm, Molly Morris passed away. Her mom Erin Morris posted on Wednesday in a Group on facebook for following Molly’s travels.
Heaven was awarded the title of finest big sister Angel steadily for the past night, choosing her based on her beauty, intelligence, strength, humour, cuteness, cheekiness, and kindness. She smiled the most brilliant smile,” the post says.
“Jon, Annie, and I are experiencing pain that no words throughout the English dialect can adequately express. Our home is peaceful. Annie is inconsolably sad. Her older sister, closest friend, and playmate are no longer with her. One thing that is certain: Molly has battled valiantly for 2 years with Annie besides her side.
The St. Monica Academy third-grader was treated at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago after receiving a stage four kidney cancer diagnosis in May 2021.

Molly Morris, 6, was experiencing pain throughout her left side at the beginning of May 2021. The pain had been getting worse over the previous few months. She went to a doctor for x-rays as a result.
In her kidney, doctors discovered a tumour. Molly was conceded to Lutheran Community Hospital after receiving her stage 4 kidney terminal illness the following day. On May 18, she transferred to Lurie Children’s Hospital.
The tumour on Molly’s kidney was removed during surgery on May 27, 2021, but really the cancer has since spread to some of her lungs. Currently, Molly is currently experiencing a 42-week treatment regimen that entails chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and perhaps additional surgeries.

Never, ever will we allow a day to pass without talking about her or telling another hilarious Molly story. We assured her that nobody would ever forget her. We also vowed to her that we would do everything in our power to defend the other families and children.
We are extremely grateful to all of the nurses, doctors, and employees at Lurie who have supported our family and our daughter throughout this journey. It was amazing how much love as well as care they gave Molly for 21 months, especially late last night when she started slipping away.
On her final day on Earth, Molly was taken care of by her favourite nurse, Vanessa. Being in Vanessa’s care at the hospital was the one thing that made Molly the happiest patient. On Molly’s last day, Vanessa had shown Molly and with us family the love, support, and grace we could have ever wished for. NEVER GIVING UP, Molly.
