Steve Powell, Susan Powell’s father-in-law, was found guilty of “two charges collection of representations of a child engaging in sexually explicit conduct” in a court in the state of Washington.
Images of children who had previously lived in his neighbourhood were seized by police even during implementation of a search warrant, leading to his conviction.
Authorities were searching for clues in Susan’s disappearance when they came across the images and the shocking accusations.
According to the case files, however, officials found something else when they searched the house for this information. The search warrant for Powell’s residence was carried out by law enforcement from both Utah and Pierce County.
In the course of the search, evidence including laptops, hard drives, CDs, a camera, films, and notebooks was confiscated, according to the papers filed in court. Powell’s bedroom was searched, and a disc was recovered with several images and films neatly organised in folders.
One such folder was marked “Neighbors,” and it had further folders labelled “Open Window in Back House,” “Taking Bath-1,” and “Taking Bath-2.”

Prior To Josh’s Murder/Suicide, Steve Powell Had Accused His Own Son Of Being Involved In Susan’s Disappearance.
The Charley Project, a website that tracks missing people, reports that Susan Powell’s acquaintance had supper with Susan and Josh Powell on December 6, 2009. Eight years into their marriage, Susan and Josh were still going strong. The friend saw no cause for alarm.
In contrast, either Susan or Josh arrived to work the following day. According to the Charley Project, they also failed to notify their employers or bring Charlie and Braden, ages 2 and 4, to daycare. At first, Susan, Josh, and the kids were listed as missing on a missing person’s bulletin.

Josh, though, brought the kids back that night. His story was that he was taken the kids camping and that he had lost track of his wife. Susan Powell has been completely lost to the sphere of human activity.
