The early seasons of South Park were immensely popular thanks to this brilliant premise, but the programme has now shifted its attention to older characters for extended stretches of time.
By trying to compete with the many other adult animated comedies already on the market, South Park is losing a significant portion of its audience.

Streaming Warfare, South Park’s final episode The second segment eliminated Randy’s absurd character, Karen Marsh. Now the situation at Tegridy Farms has been resolved, Stan’s dad can go back to being a supporting character.
This is essential for South Park Season 26, as Randy’s plotline was the least interesting and most annoying part of Season 25, despite the show’s emphasis on adult characters in many episodes.
Season 26 of South Park will include less of Randy since the Tegridy Farms plotline, which dragged on for far too long, has finally been resolved.
It’s been a while since Randy was anything more than a supporting player, but that doesn’t mean he can’t be humorous when given the chance.

The first trailer for South Park season 26 showed Butters receiving an anal probing, a surprising throwback to the show’s juvenile humour from its infancy.
This kind of aggressively ridiculous, anarchic humour should return in season 26 of South Park so that not every show is indeed an effort at social critique.
This will allow the episodes that make fun of serious subjects to do so with more depth and investigation, while the sillier, more unrepentantly juvenile episodes may harken back to the spirit of the show’s inception.
Since each episode of the animated comedy is developed, created, and broadcast in just five days, South Park is in a rare position to remark on current events as they happen.
Being a quality which has proved both a boon and a bane over the years, it is essential that South Park season 26 make good use of this aspect of the show’s characters.
The first few seasons of South Park were full of brazen irreverence, and it was clear that the comedy was not afraid to take aim at any subject.

There were bound to be missteps as South Park tackled more weighty subjects, and one such episode was “Board Girls” from season 23. It was transphobic and not very humorous.
