Everyone has heard of Post Malone by now. Malone was reared by his father, Richard Post, and stepmother, Jodie, when he was born in Syracuse, New York. Malone’s father, a former D.J., first exposed him to music when he was young.
After graduating from Tarrant County College, he and his buddies relocated to Los Angeles and started the band BLCKVRD. In 2015, he released his solo effort “White Iverson” on SoundCloud, which was praised by Mac Miller and Wiz Khalifa.
As the year progressed, he was offered a recording contract by Republic Records. Malone’s first mixtape, titled “August 26th,” was published in 2016, and it was a nod to the date he planned to drop his debut album.
