On Wednesday, a guy attacked another tube passenger at Grand Central with an extendable baton for no apparent reason. At before 1 a.m., an assailant approached the 63-year-old victim as he was in the mezzanine level of Grand Central Station.
According to the authorities, the disturbed stranger began a dispute with the person in question, who ultimately tried to flee. According to police, the suspect attacked the victim with an expandable baton as he was walking towards the station’s exit stairs.
The person was taken to New York University Langone Medical Center by EMS in stable condition. Police stated Thursday that they were still looking for the man who had escaped the station.

A surveillance camera technician identified on social media as Zack Tahhan claimed he caught a glimpse of Frank R. Thomas as he was updating hardware at a store on First Avenue and St. Mark Place in Manhattan’s East Village.
Mr. Tahhan told a group of reporters and curious onlookers at an impromptu news conference on Wednesday: “I thought, ‘Oh my God, that is the man, we have to get him.’ The police car pulled up as he was crossing the street, and I exclaimed, “Yo, this is the man!”
Mr. Tahhan claims he raced out onto sidewalk and followed the suspect while shouting at onlookers to stay away. They look at me like I’m insane or high. Yet I am not. He declared, “I’m fasting,” meaning that he was participating in the Ramadan fast.
Police said they got a tip indicating Mr. James was at a McDonald’s about two blocks away, so they’ve been looking there. According to two law enforcement personnel briefed on the inquiry, Mr. James appears to have voluntarily contacted the tip line.
Whether or not Mr. Tahhan’s behaviour led to Mr. James’s arrest is still up in the air, according to the police.
Mr. Tahhan, on the other hand, became a viral hit thanks to his positive attitude and charisma. Clips and videos from his press conference are currently being shared with the trending hashtag #ThankYouZack.
There is a $50,000 prize for information leading authorities to Mr. James, and multiple people have claimed credit for doing so.
When asked about Mr Tahhan, the man he recruited to help modernise the store’s security camera system, Saifee’s supervisor, Francisco Puebla, poked fun at him in an interview. Saifee is a goods and garden shop on the corner of First Avenue and Seventh Street.

Mr. Puebla, aged 46, stated, “He’s all over social media,” while gesturing wildly as if to express his colossal stature. But I was the one who did anything about it.
Mr Puebla claimed to have seen a big, heavy man carrying a rucksack and ambling leisurely up First Avenue. He said he was terrified and didn’t want to call the police for fear of looking foolish. ‘I don’t want to put anyone in danger,’ Mr. Puebla remarked.
Mr. Puebla claimed he walked up to a police car that had stopped at the red light and waved and shouted, “Police officer, I may have been incorrect but the guy that committed the shooting is close to the very center of the block.”
A few minutes later, a large number of police cars surrounded Mr. James’ location to the north.

Lee Vasu, a portrait painter in New York City, also said he notified authorities.
Mr. Vasu reported seeing the suspect while out and about with his mother, wife, and 8-month-old daughter after eating lunch at Café Mogador at St. Marks Square near First Avenue, as reported by the website Artnet.
According to Mr. Vasu, police quickly arrived after he walked up to a parked automobile on First Avenue and pointed out where Mr. James was.

Frank R. James’s strategy was hidden behind the multitude of frightening movies he uploaded to YouTube in recent weeks.
In between hateful rants on current events, he detailed his plans to go from Milwaukee to his East Coast birthplace in late March. Multiple videos show him driving a hired van back to his home territory, which he refers to as “the danger zone.”
Police said Mr James opened fired on a tube car, killing 10 and injured at least 13 others the day following the incident, and that Mr James posted an account in which he admitted to wanting to kill and ‘see people die right in the middle of him’ on numerous occasions.
He claimed that going to jail was a deterrent, and that “it’s vital to think over what you’re intending to do when you do it.”
Mr James was taken into custody on Wednesday and is being held for what is being called the worst tube crime in New York City in in 40 years. On Thursday, he was scheduled to make an appearance in federal court.
Researchers and the general public were still trying to understand what drove him and how the many hours of video he uploaded provided a sneak peek at an attack that may had been planning over weeks.
