South Korean film industry veteran Kang Soo-Yeon passed away at the age of 55. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kang passed away from a brain haemorrhage on May 7. Two days before she had the haemorrhage, she had been hospitalised to a hospital in southern Seoul for cardiac arrest.

Kang made her acting debut as a youngster in the 1970s after being born in Seoul in 1966. At the 1987 Venice Film Festival, she played the lead role in Kwon-“The taek’s Surrogate Womb,” for which she earned the award for best actress. Following a two-year wait, in 1989, Kang earned the best actress award for her role in “Come, Come Upward” at the Moscow International Film Festival.

A funeral service for Kang will be held on May 11 at Samsung Medical Center, where she was afterwards buried. Actor Kang Soo-yeon, who was 55 years old and a veteran of Korean cinema, passed away recently.

Reportedly, the well-known actress had a brain haemorrhage on May 7. A number of people rushed her to a Seoul hospital, but she ultimately passed away there. Friends and family members that meant the most to her surrounded her.

She received medical attention, but she never woke up from her coma and passed just two days later.
