Sadly, Disney’s former head of distribution, Dave Hollis, went suddenly at the young age of 47. According to Variety, he passed away on February 11th, 2023, at his home in Austin, Texas, following his hospitalization for heart-related health issues.
With a black square on Instagram and white text reading, “We are devastated,” Rachel Hollis spoke out about Dave’s unexpected passing.
I don’t know what to say; my heart is too broken right now. As we try to make our way through the unthinkable, please keep the children in your thoughts and prayers. Together, they raised four kids.
Divorce Was To Take Effect In 2020, The Couple Sai.
Rachel and Dave decided to divorce after 16 years of marriage and communicated the news in a lengthy essay that they published in June of 2020.
There was a letter where she said, “We have worked relentlessly over the last three years to make this work and have come to the conclusion that it is healthier and more dignified for us to decide that this is the end of our married life together.”
The last month, I’ll be very forthright with you, has been one of the worst of our life. I wish I could muster all my courage and optimism right now for you, but I’m saving everything I have for when my kids grow up, the lifestyle blogger explained.
She went on to say that the two “remain dear friends” and that they plan to continue working together as partners in both parenting and business.

Dave Hollis’s Instagram Post Said Something Else
Approximately a month later, on July 26, 2020, Dave posted on Instagram to explain his side of the incident.
Dave, according to It’s Fine I’m Fine, said that Rachel had asked for a divorce two days after their 16th wedding anniversary. To give some background, the Hollis’ reaffirmed their vows every five years.

He captioned the photo, “Rae told [him] she didn’t want to be married any more,” referencing the moment two days after they celebrated the anniversary of their relationship. In order for him to develop into the man he was meant to be, she must go her separate way.

Dave Hollis departed Disney in 2018 to take over as CEO of Rachel’s media company, Chic Media.
Hollis stated at the time, “I can’t count the amount of ‘pinch-me’ experiences I’ve had in my time at Disney. I couldn’t pass up the chance to assist my wife’s business succeed because there are so few possibilities like this one.
It was renamed Hollis Co. after Dave joined the firm. Around the same time, Dave and Rachel started streaming their daily lives as a couple and parents to their viewers.
The couple started their podcast, Rise Together, in the same year they tied the knot, and it quickly became a safe space for them to discuss marital issues and other relationship issues openly.
