New York delegate to the Constitutional Convention (1787), major author of the Federalist papers, and first secretary of the United States treasury (1789–95) Alexander Hamilton (born January 11, 1755/57 in Nevis, British West Indies; died July 12, 1804, New York, New York, U.S.). Hamilton was the leading advocate of a strong central government for the new United States. He met his end after challenging Aaron Burr to a duel.

He successfully contended that a tariff on imports and a whisky tax gave birth to the First Bank of the United States. Which in turn gave birth to the legal authority to fund the national debt. Assume the debts of the states, and create the national bank.

Cause Of Alexander Hamilton’s Death
The relationship between Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton was cordial for quite some time. But after Burr had every political ambition thwarted by Hamilton for fifteen years straight. Burr was boiling with rage and itching for revenge.
Hamilton’s opposition to Burr was laid out in letters published in the Albany Register, and there were rumours that even more severe attacks on Burr’s character had been delivered at a dinner party, and that was the last straw. A duel was finally proposed by Burr to Hamilton. After suffering a fatal wound on July 11, 1804, Hamilton passed away the next afternoon. He was 47 years old.

On the morning of July 11, 1804, after Alexander Hamilton had taken care of his own business. He and Burr met on the New Jersey side of the Hudson River. During the ensuing gunfight, Hamilton was fatally injured. Several people think he intentionally missed Burr so that Burr could shoot at him. The next day, Hamilton was taken back to New York City, where he passed away.
