A hired worker at the Fulton County Jail is currently being detained after only a month on the job.
Fulton County Sheriff’s Office officials said they caught Ebonee Grant as she tried to sneak drugs and tobacco into work. Deputies said that Grant has been employed as a medical assistant for the past month.
According to authorities, she was stopped at a security checkpoint on her way inside the jail when officers detected the odour of marijuana coming from her direction. Drugs were discovered in storage containers she used to conceal meals.

Jefferson City Man Charged With Bringing Drugs Into Jail
In the same time that he was being processed at the Cole County jail, a man from Jefferson City is suspected of being in possession of illegal substances.
Michael Sayles, age 46, was charged with one count of possessing a controlled substance while in custody. The charge was for one count.

Nye County Says Inmates Accused Of Attempting To Smuggle Drugs Through Laundry At Jail
According to the Nye County Sheriff’s office, nine persons were taken into custody after being accused of being involved in a narcotics smuggling operation at the detention centre in the area.
According to Nye County, deputies at the Nye County Detention Center received information on December 5 that two inmates who were on an outside work detail were accused of bringing narcotics into the jail. The offenders were working outside the facility.
After conducting an investigation, Nye County came to the conclusion that the two individuals were importing heroin and methamphetamine into the detention centre, where they then distributed the drugs with the assistance of three other inmate personnel.
The suspects then allegedly attempted to distribute the drugs within the Nye County Detention Center through the laundry distribution system, according to the authorities.
