Prince Harry Says He and Prince William Believed Diana Faked Her Own Death For Many Years

Prince Harry has admitted that he and his brother previously suspected that Princess Diana had staged her own death.

The Duke of Sussex opened out about the loss of his mother, the late Princess of Wales, when he was just 12 years old in an interview with Anderson Cooper for CBS’ 60 Minutes, which aired on Sunday (8 January).

The CNN host brought up a passage from Prince Harry’s upcoming book, Spare, in which the future king says he thought his mother had faked her death to avoid the media.

The Prince of Wales has admitted that he and his brother once suspected a hoax regarding the death of their mother, Princess Diana.

The Duke of Sussex was candid about the loss of his mother, the late Princess of Wales, when he was just 12 years old during an interview with Anderson Cooper for CBS’ 60 Minutes, which aired on Sunday (8 January).

A CNN reporter interviewed Prince Harry on camera and brought up an excerpt from his upcoming book, Spare, in which Harry says he thinks his mother faked her death to get away from the media.

Prince Harry has spoken publicly about the loss of his mother, Princess Diana, and the steps he took to cope with his grief.

He explained to Anderson Cooper that he first used booze, then therapy, and finally “psychedelics, Ayahuasca, psilocybin, mushrooms,” to deal with his issues.

“I would never suggest anyone undertake this as a fun activity,” he stated. If you’ve experienced a great deal of loss, grief, or trauma, engaging in these activities with the proper people has a healing effect.

Prince Harry Was Looking for Evidence!

Us Weekly claims that during the CBS show, Harry discussed his efforts to view evidence of the vehicle accident that killed her, her boyfriend Dodi al-Fayed, and their driver, Henri Paul. Her bodyguard, Trevor Rhys-Jones, was the only one to escape unharmed, but he was severely wounded.

“[I was looking for primarily] proof that she was in the car,” Harry explained. “Evidence that she was hurt and that the photographers who had chased her into the tunnel were the same ones who had photographed her as she lay unconscious in the back [of the car]. Photos taken through the window revealed a gathering of photographers staring back at themselves in the reflection.

Without using his real name, Harry describes Fayed in the book as “mummy’s new friend” and says he seemed “cheeky… but kind enough.” Fayed was a film producer and was 42 years old at the time of the deadly crash.

Harry claims in his book that he and William were in St. Tropez with Diana when she first met Fayed in the weeks before her death. He reflected on the diamond bracelet that Fayed had given to Diana.

Harry recalls being encouraged by the “matrons” at his school to send a “last” letter to his mother after Diana’s death: “I have a faint sense of wanting to argue that she was still alive, and yet not saying so for fear they’d think I was nuts.”

In addition, Harry describes the morning of August 31, 1997, when his father, now King Charles III, told him about Diana’s death.

To be able to sketch that scene and share with people where my story really began was crucial, Harry says in his GMA interview. “As a father, I’d never want to have to break news like that to my kids, so I have a lot of sympathy and compassion and understanding now for how ill-equipped I guess my dad was, how ill-equipped anybody would be in that situation.”

And he goes on to say, “In all honesty, I don’t think any of my relatives knew what to do. Neither can I say whether other families would have done a better job, but I think they were at a loss.”

Diana’s Death Left a Huge Hole in Prince Harry’s Life

Diana’s Death Left a Huge Hole in Prince Harry’s Life

In an earlier diary entry, Harry reflected on how his mother’s death “left a huge hole” in his life.

In a forward he wrote for the children’s book Hospital by the Hill, he said, “I want to assure you that over time that hole will be filled with so much love and support.” The book is set to be released in March 2021. You may be experiencing feelings of isolation, sadness, anger, and general unpleasantness.

You will feel better and stronger once you are ready to talk about how you feel about this, and I promise you that this feeling will pass. … I was told that when a parent dies, their physical body goes to heaven but their spirit, love, and memories remain with you forever. You can never let go of them because they are eternally present. This rings true to me.

Conclusion

Harry recalls the days after his mother’s death and the internal struggle he experienced as he tried to come to terms with the reality of the situation.

Despite knowing the truth, he remembered comforting himself by telling himself that his mother was just “hiding” and not really dead. He explains this theory in greater detail later in the book.

The Duke recalled that he and William were kept away from the television set in order to protect them from hearing the news of Diana’s death.

Former Metropolitan Police Commissioner Lord Stevens oversaw the Operation Paget inquiry, which concluded that the Princess’s death was a tragic accident rather than the result of murder.

The inquiry into Diana and Dodi Fayed’s deaths lasted two years, and the ensuing inquest determined that their deaths were unjustified because of the reckless behaviour of drunk driver Henri Paul and the relentless pursuit of paparazzi photographers.
