Milledgeville Il Accident Do you Have To File A Police Report For An Accident In Illinois?

(Oct. 22, 2021) MILLEDGEVILLE, GA – Chelsa Hurt, 17, was killed in a two-car collision that occurred on Friday night in Milledgeville. There were three more people hurt in the incident.

According to the investigation, 23-year-old Contravious Phelps was driving a 2011 Mazda 3i in which Hurt was a passenger. They were on Lakeside Drive heading east in the Carrington Woods neighborhood. Phelps swerved across the center line and into oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with a 2020 Jeep Wrangler.

Baldwin High School senior Chelsa Hurt was pronounced deceased after the incident. Phelps sustained critical injuries and was taken to the emergency room before being airlifted to Macon’s Atrium Health Navicent Medical Center.

Both 41-year-old Jeep driver Joanna Smith and her passenger, a middle schooler, were injured, though just slightly. Milledgeville PD has not finished their investigation into the collision. There has been no filing of charges.
