The actor and singer Lucas Wong, born Wong Yuk-hei on January 25, 1999, is a product of Hong Kong. He recently joined the SM and is the newest NCT member. In spite of his Hong Kong birth, Wong is only halfway Chinese due to his mother’s Thai ancestry.
After appearing in the NCT U and WayV sub-units for the single “BOSS,” he made his official debut with the NCT track “Regular.” In addition to his appearances on “Real Men,” “Law of the Jungle,” and “Knowing Brothers,” Wong has also appeared in other reality shows. His 2018 songwriting effort, “Coffee Break,” was a smash hit with the younger generations.

The years 2015–2017 are dedicated to pre-debut preparations.
The late 2015 Global Audition in Hong Kong was where SM Entertainment first saw Lucas. Lucas started out as an SM trainee learning how to model, but later he switched to idol training where he learned how to sing, rap, and dance.
On April 5th, 2017, he made his debut as a member of the pre-debut training team SM Rookies. 2018-2019 will see the debut of NCT, WayV, SuperM, and the artist’s own solo endeavours. SM Entertainment announced the formation of NCT 2018, a side project for the massive boy band NCT, in January of this year.

Aside from Kun and Jungwoo, Lucas was the newest addition to the crew. On January 30, 2018, the trio made their debut in issue #1 of SM’s NCT 2018 Yearbook. On March 14th, with the release of their debut studio album NCT 2018 Empathy, Lucas made his debut with NCT.
Lucas contributed to the album as a member of NCT U, contributing the title track, as well as the songs “Yestoday” (as NCT U) and “Black on Black” (as NCT 2018). During the album’s promotional run in South Korea, Lucas made regular appearances on the variety shows Real Man 300 and Law of the Jungle in Last Indian Ocean.

Taeyeon’s “All Night Long,” a track from her June 2018 EP Something New on which Lucas appears, features Lucas. Topping out at #72 on the Gaon Digital Chart, the song was a success.

Performing together again for the first time since “Black on Black” in 2018, NCT’s second group-wide project NCT 2020 featured all 23 members, including Lucas for the first time since October 2020. On Resonance Pt. 1, he contributed to the songs “Make A Wish (Birthday Song)” (both the Korean and English versions), “Faded In My Last Song,” “Volcano,” and “Nectar” (both by Way), and “Resonance” (a collaboration between all of NCT U’s members).
WayV released their third extended play (EP), Kick Back, on March 10, 2021. The title track also served as the first single. This was the group’s first album to debut at the top of the Gaon Album Chart. In the ninth season of Keep Running, Lucas came back to be a regular cast member.
It was planned for Lucas and his WayV bandmate Hendery to drop their new single “Jalapeo” on August 25th, 2021. However, SM Entertainment and Label V announced that the release and its promotions had been postponed in the wake of controversy surrounding his alleged past relationships. At the same time, Lucas stated that he would be taking a break from his work with WayV.
