TMZ has been informed by campus security at the University of Idaho that… There are NO intentions to reduce the number of patrols to the level they were at before the murders, and there are NO plans to roll back any manpower additions.

After the murders, the institution made a commitment to its students that they would increase the level of safety and security around the campus so that students would feel comfortable returning to school.

Among the modifications were the employment of a brand-new campus police unit as well as an increase in the number of guards already stationed on campus in order to cover a larger area and do so on a more regular basis.

We have also been told that campus security is still receiving a large number of tips about Kohberger, and that they are passing these leads along to the FBI and the Moscow Police Department.

Following his arrest in Pennsylvania, Kohberger is currently in the process of being extradited back to his home state of Idaho, where his public attorney has stated that he is confident that his client will be found not guilty of all charges.

Who Was Arrested?

Pennsylvania State Police said in a statement that a suspect in the murders, identified as Bryan Christopher Kohberger, was apprehended in Pennsylvania on a fugitive from justice warrant. On Friday, authorities in Idaho said he was being charged with four charges of first-degree murder and one count of criminal burglary.

According to a press release from the Pennsylvania State Police, the 28-year-old was formally charged in front of a district judge in Pennsylvania, had bail rejected, and was remanded to the Monroe County Correctional Facility for extradition to Idaho.

According to CBS News, a law enforcement official said that Kohlberger was taken into custody without incident at his parents’ house in Albrightsville, Pennsylvania.

Kohberger was a Ph.D. criminology student and teaching assistant at Washington State University (Pullman), not far from Moscow, Idaho, when he was apprehended. A letter from DeSales University confirmed that he earned his bachelor’s degree there in 2020 and continued his graduate studies there until June 2022.

On New Year’s Day, Kohberger’s parents and two sisters issued a statement through LaBar, who is exclusively representing Kohberger in the extradition. Kohberger’s family said that they “have completely cooperated with law enforcement agencies in an attempt to seek the truth and promote his presumption of innocence” and that they

“will continue to let the judicial process unfold” after his detention and the filing of charges against him. They also acknowledged “those who have lost loved ones.”

“We are heartbroken for the four families who have lost their children. We pray for them every day, and there are no words to describe how devastated we are “CBS News has obtained a statement from Kohberger’s family in which they say.

“As a family, we will continue to love and support our son and brother,” the suspect’s family said. “In an effort to find the truth and support his presumption of innocence, we have worked fully with law authorities. While we and the other grieving families go through the legal procedure, we ask that you give us some space to do so.”

What Happened The Night Of The Crime?

On Sunday, November 13th, at 11:58 a.m., police got a complaint of a person who appeared to be unconscious. They discovered the bodies of four University of Idaho students on the second and third levels.

In addition to Xana Kernodle and her housemates Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves, the fourth victim, Ethan Chapin, did not actually live in the house but was dating one of the roommates. Two other housemates also resided there, but they were not targeted; authorities suspect they were asleep during the slayings.

According to the police report, Chapin and Kernodle were last seen together at a party hosted by the Sigma Chi fraternity on the campus of the University of Idaho on Saturday night. On Sunday, November 13th, at around 1:45 a.m., they got back to their house.

Later that night, Mogen and Goncalves were spotted at a pub in central Moscow called The Corner Club. Police said that at around 1:45 a.m., the pair exited the bar, ate at a food truck, and then both went home.

Witnesses say they saw both women at the club, which is characterised as a popular nightlife spot among college students, and livestream video corroborated their visit to the food truck, so investigators are confident that their reported whereabouts throughout the night are accurate.

Mogen and Goncalves were allegedly spotted at the Corner Club at 1:30 a.m. on November 13 on leaked photos purportedly captured from surveillance cameras and widely posted online in December.

The Moscow police department announced on December 29 that cleanup efforts at the residence would begin on December 30. As part of this process, “possible biohazards and other dangerous substances used to collect evidence” will be eliminated, according to the police.

After the cleanup is done, authorities say the home will be released to the property management firm. No time frame was given.

Final Words

A suspect has been taken into custody, according to law enforcement officials, more than six weeks after the bodies of four students from the University of Idaho were discovered on November 13 at a residence in Moscow, Idaho.

The victims had been stabbed to death. Officials announced on Friday that Bryan Christopher Kohberger, age 28, was detained in Pennsylvania in connection with the investigation and is being charged with four charges of murder related to the incident.
