The TV series The Originals follows three of the six Mikaelson siblings, Klaus, Elijah, and Rebekah, as they deal with the consequences of their actions. Vampires are known as “the originals” in the supernatural community because they were the first to be created.
The Vampire Diaries spin-off is the first television series expansion of the franchise based on its parent series.
After a long absence, the Originals are welcomed back to New Orleans by Hayley, who has moved in with them after becoming pregnant. While the French Quarter was originally built by them, they were forced to abandon it by their vengeful father Mikael.
As a replacement for Klaus and Marcel in the French Quarter, Marcel took over the reins. Klaus is adamant that Marcel must be brought to justice so that they can reclaim the city that was once theirs. While doing so, they must also keep their city safe from a war between vampires, werewolves, and witches.
‘The Originals’ Season 6 Cancellation: The Reality Check
During the show’s fourth season, many viewers complained that the plot had become too predictable.
As of July 20, 2017, there will be no more episodes of Season 5. That year, the show’s creator, Julie Plec, announced the news via Twitter before heading to San Diego for Comic-Con.
Being in charge of the series’ conclusion is both a blessing and a curse in one. There are many shows that do not have the luxury of deciding when the show ends… There is “always a tinge of sadness” when a show is canceled, Julie Plec says, “but it’s an enormous blessing to have been involved in that decision.”

Series Overview The Originals Season
Rebekah (Danielle Panabaker) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies) are two of the three Mikaelson siblings who appear in The Originals, a spin-off of the vampire drama The Vampire Diaries (Claire Holt). The Mikaelson family is known as “the Originals” because they were the first-ever vampires. Following Niklaus “Klaus” Mikaelson’s journey to discover his true nature in The Vampire Diaries, a werewolf-witch hybrid. April 25, 2013, backdoor pilot, “The Originals,” also revealed that Hayley, the werewolf with whom Klaus had a one-night stand, is pregnant.
The Originals return to New Orleans after a long absence and are greeted by Hayley, who has taken up residence with them after becoming pregnant. Mikael (Sebastian Roché), their father’s vengeance, forced them to abandon the French Quarter they had built. While Klaus and Rebekah were away, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) assumed command of the French Quarter. They must defeat Marcel and reclaim the city that was once theirs, all the while guarding the city against a vampire, werewolf, and witch war about to break out, as Klaus insists.
Klaus’ mystical child is about to be born, and the Originals must band together to protect her. This is revealed in the first season. Werewolves, vampires, and witchcraft are also discussed.
First-born Mikael and Esther Mikaelson (Alice Evans) return, as does Dahlia, an aunt who threatens the baby’s life, and Freya Mikaelson (Riley Voelkel), Mikael and Esther’s first-born daughter, in the second season.
