Freeman Township, Ohio (WKBN) – Deputy sheriffs from the Portage County Sheriff’s Office pulled over a vehicle on Tuesday in Freedom Township on Interstate 80 and found four persons inside, three from New York and one from Louisiana.
The Portage Aggressive Crime Enforcement (P.A.C.E.) Unit of the sheriff’s office reportedly discovered $5,600 in cash and a drug thought to be Khat during the car check, as reported on Facebook.
The amount of Khat recovered in this car stop is three times the bulk amount in the entire state of Ohio, according to the sheriff’s office. According to the sheriff’s department, users of this narcotic report hazardous side effects and effects comparable to those of cocaine and methamphetamine.

The Portage County Sheriff’s Office verified that during a traffic stop in Freedom Township, deputies discovered suspected Khat and thousands of dollars in cash.
On the evening of January 31st, LCSO deputies from the P.A.C.E. Unit conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 80 for minor offences.
According to PCSO, four New Yorkers and a Louisianan were inside.
PCSO stated deputies observed criminal indicators and obtained approval to search the vehicle.

Rapides Neighborhood Drug Enforcement (RADE) has made four arrests as a result of their investigation into drug trafficking in the Lakeshore Drive area of Pineville.
Raegan Alan Boone, 63, was named as the owner of a house on Lakeshore Drive who allegedly allowed drug addicts to stay there. Agents from RADE were successful in securing a search warrant for his residence.
RADE Agents asked for help from the Rapides Parish SWAT to carry out the search after receiving information that a wanted fugitive was hiding out there.
On January 31st, RPSO SWAT secured the house after executing the search warrant. The search was done by RADE Agents, Probation and Parole Agents. From the Louisiana Department of Corrections, and Detectives from the Pineville Police Department.
