In This Interview, Sunny Hostin Discusses Her Cosmetic Surgeries!

Sunny Hostin is opening out about her experience with plastic surgery.

The co-host of The View says in the new edition of PEOPLE that she had liposuction and a breast reduction/lift done last summer.

Hostin tells PEOPLE exclusively, “I consider myself to be a greater version of myself,” after undergoing the operations after years of dealing with back pain and body image concerns. The choice was made for health and self-preservation reasons.

Hostin now hopes to reduce the taboo surrounding cosmetic surgery by starting this dialogue.

Here Is The Entire Conversation

“My initial reaction was one of embarrassment; I couldn’t help but think, “Oh my God, I’m getting plastic surgery just like all these insane celebs.” Contrarily, I have no feelings of guilt, “What she says, she says.

“And I pray that by telling this, I can aid a wider audience. Like I did, individuals can do whatever helps them feel more comfortable in their own skin if they are suffering from extreme body consciousness.”

Self-consciousness has been an ongoing issue for Hostin since she was a little kid living in the city of New York.

She has two children with her orthopaedic physician husband, Emmanuel Hostin, 52: son Gabe, 20, and child Paloma, 16. “By the moment I was 16, I had a double-D,” Hostin says of her weight. It never occurred to me that having a child might enlarge my breasts, yet that’s exactly what happened.

Yet when she started working full-time on The View in 2016, her insecurities skyrocketed.

“I had a little waist, but my bosom was so big that I had to wear a minimizer bra in addition to a regular bra or a binder at all times,” she says. “Maybe I’d buy a huge dress and have my stylist attach clips to the back so I could wear my bra.”

When Hostin buttoned up the Toni Maticevski dress for the White House Investigative journalists’ Dinner in April of last year, she was taken aback to discover that the bra didn’t fit. This was the deciding factor in her deciding to have the operations.

Hostin admits, “I was crying,” and that she resorted to covering her chest in adhesive tape in order to get by. “

My boobs were about to pop out of my bra if I lifted my hand. Group (Musical) The band Bell Biv DeVoe approached me about doing a photo shoot. My first thought was, “Oh God, they’re gonna to have these photographs with my boobs hanging out.””

A Tragic Story With A Hopeful Resolution

Hostin was so shaken up by the news that she quickly scheduled consultations with breast surgeons Dr. Neinstein and plastic surgeon Dr. Anna Steve in New York City. In addition to lipo on her waistline and chin, Hostin had a boob job and lift on August 22nd, 2022.

Hostin, who had a private nurse by her side for two weeks as she healed at home, adds, “It’s not glamorous.” The procedure left her with minimal scarring and drainage tubes in her body for three days to prevent bleeding and fluid buildup.

“Three days later, I was ready to crawl out of mattress and go about my day without assistance. After two weeks, I was back at the office, and in two months, I was doing Pilates.”

Since the start of the epidemic, there has been a rise in the need for plastic surgery, says the American Association of Plastic Surgeons. (Liposuction can cost anywhere from $8,500 to $30,000, while a breast augmentation and lift can cost anywhere from $10,000 to $30,000.)

A research from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) found that 23% of surgeons who were polled reported “twice the business as opposed to before the epidemic,” while 47% reported “slightly higher” business overall. This doesn’t mean they’re completely risk-free.

‘Every operation has inherent risks,’ Dr. Neinstein says. “The goal of every single one of us is to always look and feel our very best. Everything in our lives is impacted when this occurs.”

Undoubtedly, Hostin is now a content and assured person. “Now I waltz around nude the all time at my place – I feel amazing,” adds Hostin, who dropped from the a G-cup to the a C-cup. “You might see me on The View completely undressed!” Hostin intends for his audience to pay attention.

“To kill time, I flip through glossy publications and Instagram feeds. Yeah, I just assumed that they were vegetarians or vegans because of their diet. Quite the opposite; many of them are either medicating themselves or undergoing cosmetic procedures.

They’ve decided to keep it quiet on their own accord, “Furthermore, she says. “Nonetheless, I aimed for completely forthrightness. And it makes me very pleased.”
