March 17 at 7:35 p.m. ET, Ball Arena will host the opening round NCAA Tournament game between the Grand Canyon Impalas and the No. 9 seed Gonzaga Bulldogs.
On Saturday, the Antelopes presented a challenge that was too great for the Southern Utah Firebirds to handle at home. In a resounding victory, Grand Canyon prevailed by a score of 84-66.
Their success is owed in large part to star guard Rayshon Harrison, who scored 31 points on 5-for-7 shooting from deep and added eight assists and eight boards.
The Bulldogs, meanwhile, extended their playoff winning streak to three games with a victory last week.
They beat the St Mary’s Gaels 77-51 with relative ease. Forward Anton Watson contributed nine points, five assists, and 10 rebounds for Gonzaga, and forward Drew Timme scored 18 points and grabbed six boards.

A No. 3 seed, the Zags will face No. 14 Grand Canyon College in the first round of the NCAA Tournament (24-11). The match is set for this coming Friday at Coors Arena in Denver.
With claiming the West Coast Division championship with a victory over Saint Mary’s, Gonzaga concluded its regular-season campaign with a 28-5 record. In their final nine games of the regular season, the Bulldogs went 9-0 and won both games against nationally rated Saint Mary’s.
By virtue of their triumph in the WAC Championship, Grand Canyon will be representing the conference in the NCAA Tournament.

This year’s Bulldogs team is led by senior Drew Timme. Since that the forward has stated that he would not be returning for a fifth year at Gonzaga, he will not have another opportunity to win an NCAA Championship with the Bulldogs.
Sporting News recognised Timme’s outstanding performance for Gonzaga by placing him on its First Team All-America.
Timme scored 20.9 per contest on average while also contributing 7.3 rebounds & 3.2 assists. Timme currently has 2,210 career points, which is a school record.
