We haven’t seen much of the Marvel series’ comeback yet, but season 2 of Loki will be available on Disney Plus soon. So far, we’ve only seen a few of quick glimpses at the new episodes in a larger teaser for the streaming service’s future TV shows and movies.

Loki’s Second Season’s Cast And Crew
The cast from season 1 of Loki, including Tom Hiddleston, Jonathon Majors (in Kang), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (as Ravonna Renslayer), Owen Wilson (as Mobius), Wunmi Mosaku (as Hunters B-15), Eugene Cordero (as Casey Called Hunter K-5E), and Sophia DiMartino, will all be back for season 2.
After being photographed alongside Hiddleston on set, the latter’s return as Sylvie was announced not too long ago. Several photographs of her drinking from a throwaway cup and straw outside of a McDonald’s made it online. Many of her supporters have noticed that her clothing looks remarkably like the 1970s McDonald’s worker outfits.
Both Rafael Casal and Ke Huy Quan, who starred in Everything, Everywhere, All at Once, were revealed as joining the cast during Disney’s D23 Expo 2022, when the company previewed a number of its forthcoming films and television shows.

Kate Herron, the show’s creator and executive producer, has stated that she will not return for a second season. I’m looking forward to Season 2 as a fan, Herron told Deadline. All I can say is that I’m satisfied with our work here and that I gave it my all.
Two other people, Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead, have instead agreed to serve as directors. From what we can gather from Bloomberg, they will “founder a bulk of the programs for season 2.” They just helmed two episodes of both the Marvel cinematic universe Moon Knight, in which Oscar Isaac plays a superhero with multiple personalities.
The show’s original writers, Michael Waldron & Eric Martin, are returning for a second season, with Martin taking on the role of showrunner.
Henry Cavill is reportedly in talks to portray Marcus Milton/Hyperion, though this report should be taken with a grain of salt because it comes from the notorious MCU leaker Cinestealth and Inverse.

Loki’s Season 2 Storyline
We don’t know much about what Loki will get up to in season 2, but we did learn during D23 that it will have significant ties to the Multiverse Saga.
When it was announced of season 2, Hiddleston (through Marvel) said that he had “excited about the prospects” and that the crew was in “profound, deep, deep negotiations,” but since then, the actor has been mum.
Mbatha-Raw expressed to Popculture.com her anticipation for her characters to explore “some deeper, darker realms.” A villain who places her commitment to the TVA above all else, Ravonna Renslayer was first presented as an anti-hero and a possible love interest of Mobius.

The killing does not satisfy her as she had hoped, and she is now abandoned in the Citadel of the Rest of Eternity. Sophia Di Martini told RadioTimes that she doesn’t know if her character would return, but that the last scene with Sylvie is “an exciting location to begin another chapter” (via Marvel). While we know she will return, this is a temporary solution.
When asked by Total Film about Loki Series 2, Hiddleston said: “Really, I don’t know what to say. It has been, and still is, a source of genuine stimulation and difficulty for me. The plot does not conclude at the beginning of the first season. It makes a lot of sense to me.
Just as volatile, passionate, and chaotic as ever, Loki is almost too unpredictable to handle. Perhaps some of it needs to be settled. The unpacking process has begun.”
The future has been foreshadowed by Waldron as well. In an interview for Deadline’s Hero Nation podcast, he said, “The only reason the programme is worth doing to me is if we are able find a new novel to tell with the this character.”
“With Loki, we seemed to be breaking new emotional territory. Only by doing so can you access the second season. Indeed, that’s what we unearthed. It’s an excellent continuation of the plot that, hopefully, will surprise viewers.”
