86 – Eighty-Six- is a romantic mecha as well as military science fiction anime series. The popular light novel by Asato Asato served as the inspiration for the anime that debuted in 2021.
A-1 Pictures, who brought us fan favourites like Black Butler and Kaguya-sama: Love is War, translated the manga into an anime, with director Toshimasa Ishii at the helm. In this science fiction anime, the States of San Magnolia as well as the Giadian Empire are at war with one another.
A special episode of the anime premiered on June 27 to wrap up the first season, which had originally shown between April 11, 2021 and June 20, 2021 on a number of local channels including Japan Dh, BS11, GYT, ytv, & CTV.
Also, it has been licenced by Crunchyroll, which has increased its exposure to an international audience. Now that the anime has a devoted following, season two is eagerly anticipated.
What Exactly Happens In This Anime?
After years of military dominance by the Giadian Empire’s drones, the Republic of San Magnolia has developed its own autonomous drones after patient and meticulous research. The republican administration insists that this battle is now a zero-sum conflict between super-advanced civilizations and their mechanised hordes.
The government, on the other hand, uses propaganda to hide the grim truth about the autonomous units from the public. The Colorata minority has been mistreated by Alba’s racist administration in the Government of San Magnolia for a very long time.
The 86s are a group of people who, rumour has it, are being forced to operate robotic drones in a horrible war against by the Giadian Empire. Major Vladilena “Lena” Mirizé, who commands an elite squad of 86 veterans, is moved by their plight after hearing of their tyranny.
Lena’s life is turned upside down when she finally realises that the Republic isn’t as great as she’s been led to believe by years of propaganda.
Sadly, Lena’s inability to win the backing of a Colorata minority is a direct result of her being an Alban. Even if Lena succeeds in winning the hearts of the oppressed, the racist Alba regime will continue its persecution.

What About Season 86 (Eighty-Six)? Shall Their Be A Second Season?
The first anime season aired in two halves. The first 11 episodes (of of a total of 23) aired from April 11, 2021, to June 20, 2021, while the remaining 14 episodes (from October 3, 2021, to March 19, 2022) aired from October 3, 2021, to March 19, 2022.
The first 23 episodes of Season 86 were scheduled together and the year was already separated, despite the fact that certain publications or streaming platforms labelled the second version of 86 as a new season.
In light of this, fans of the 1986 anime did not have to wait too long before seeing a continuation of the series.

The lack of a renewal, though, means that the second season could be a longer wait. As of this writing on September 4, 2022, neither Studio A-1 Pictures nor light novel publishers ASCII Media Works have renewed the anime for a second season.
Without any confirmation either way, we can speculate as to whether or not Anime 86 will return for a second season.
While deciding whether or not to produce a new season of an anime, producers consider factors including the novel’s popularity, critical reception, and reviews as well as practical considerations like disc sales exclusive and distributors.
Given these primary conditions, do you think a new season of anime is feasible? We should check it out jointly.

Nonsticky Book
The series’s light novel began with a story by Asato Asato with illustrations by Shirabii. ASCII Media Works began publishing the series on February 10, 2017, and as of present, it has eleven volumes out.
In 2022, on November 10th, the twelfth installment will hit shelves. Only a small portion of the short novel was adapted for the first season of the anime, yet there’s plenty more canonical content for future seasons.
The first three volumes of a light novel series are represented in the anime’s 23 episodes. Adaptations of both The State de San Magnolia Arc as Well as the Empire the Giad Arc can be made.
It’s great that the light novels and manga from which animes are based are still being released. Due to the fact that promotion for the ongoing story is still very strong. As the release of a new season of an anime series tends to boost sales of manga and light novels, we may extrapolate that this trend bodes well for the potential of a second season.
Conclusion
Yet, it’s too early for you to get your hopes too high; news of the show’s renewal is likely to arrive in the following months. You may rest assured, though, that we will share any and all information regarding the upcoming season of Eighty-Six that comes our way. In the meantime, you can catch up on first two seasons by visiting Crunchyroll.
