WWE Announces Indefinite Suspended Of Ronda Rousey Following Attack On SummerSlam Official!

Even though Ronda Rousey made history by becoming the first woman to win the UFC and WWE championships at the same time, she won’t be fighting again for the time being.

In a statement released on August 1, WWE announced that Rousey would be suspended following an attack on referee Dan Engler. “An irate Rousey attacked the official after her SmackDown Women’s Title Match, claiming he missed [her opponent] Liv Morgan taping out to the Armbar while he counted the pinfall,” according to their statement.

Video of the incident shows Rousey grabbing the arm of the official and throwing him to the floor of the ring, where she pinned him until another official intervened.

Additionally, the fighter has been fined an undisclosed sum of money for his actions.

As soon as Rousey found out about the severity of her punishment, she posted a photo of the match to Instagram with the caption, “Hey @wwe if you guys could stop screwing me to put over your golden girls at every major PPV that’d be great.”

Officials have been suspended after Ronda Rousey attacked the referee following her Summerslam SmackDown Women’s Title match in which she claimed that he missed Liv Morgan’s Armbar submission. Despite the WWE’s rule that superstars are not allowed to touch referees, Ronda Rousey was not able to avoid her suspension. WWE released the following statement in response to Ronda Rousey’s suspension: “At SummerSlam, Ronda Rousey was involved in an altercation with referee Dan Engler, which resulted in her being fined and given a one-month suspension. This week’s Friday Night SmackDown will be without Rousey because of her suspension.”

Ronda Rousey’s suspension from WWE is not her first. When Ronda Rousey was suspended for attacking WWE officials in 2018, her WWE career was put on hold. In her feud with Alexa Bliss, Rousey was so fed up that she slapped her with the Money in the Bank contract. Not only was Bliss suspended, but so was Rousey after she attacked Raw’s General Manager at the time, Kurt Angle, as well as other officials.

WWE had already banned Rousey from assaulting a WWE representative. Assaulting Alexa Bliss, two WWE employees, and “Raw” general manager Kurt Angle earned her a 30-day suspension from the show in June 2018.
