Police In New York City Are Saying That A Father Of Four Was Shot Dead In Front Of His 2-Year-Old Kid

Police said the father of a 2-year-old boy was shot dead right in front of its father’s body on a Westchester street on a day when the sun was shining. The suspect was known to the victim’s mother.

Minutes after 9 a.m. on Tuesday, police said that Marquis Lane, 31, got involved in an argument with a woman near the intersection of Park Lane and West 167th Place in Morrisania while holding his infant son.

According to the police and his grandma, the assailant sneaked up on him and fired, sending him ducking for cover under a car and hitting him in the chest.

His grandma, Helen Hannibal, stated to The Post that he hid beneath the car to avoid the gunfire after an argument between the two men. Helen is 75 years old. That’s where the police tracked him down and arrested him. I can only speak from my own experience.

Lane was confirmed deceased after being sent to Lincoln Medical Center. Following the incident, both the suspect and the mother of the child ran away.

Hannibal, a former HHA, replied, “I don’t know that woman.” “I don’t care if I never meet her.” According to his grandma, Lane had a construction job and left behind four children.

Just the fact that it occurred on the corner was enough, she added. He travelled all the way here to kill, and that would be tragic. I’d be fine if he just turned up to my bedroom at my residence… As an alternative, he simply sought out his child. It’s clear that he adores his offspring.

The house that Lane occupied with his grandmother was only a few blocks away when he was shot. I loved him because he was my grandchild. He was a fantastic father,” she remarked.

If God wills it, I’ll keep on living. The death of Marquis’ kid has “not welled” his father, according to the grandma. They lost their only child, she claimed.
