Taylor Swift was honored with four major awards at the 2022 MTV Europe Music Awards, while Bangtan Boys, also known as BTS, took home the Biggest Fans Award for the sixth year in a row. The MTV Europe Music Awards took place on November 13 in Dusseldorf, Germany, and were presented by Taika Waititi and Rita Ora.

The music video for Taylor Swift’s song “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version)” won several awards, including “Best Artist,” “Best Video,” “Best Pop,” and “Best Longform.”

The pop artist made an unexpected appearance at the awards show, and while she was accepting her first trophy, she said, “the fans are the only reason any of this occurs for me.” Nicki Minaj, David Guetta, and SEVENTEEN are just a few of the other artists who have won several awards.

In terms of the performances that took place at the awards show, the 2022 program was kicked off by David Guetta and Bebe Rexha, who gave a rendition of their song “I’m Good” (Blue). The Ukrainian band Kalush Orchestra also presented an emotionally touching performance in order to lend solidarity to the Ukrainian people and raise awareness about their predicament.

“It’s important for us to be a voice of Ukraine, to have the opportunity to be all over the world, to perform and to say about Ukraine, to say about war, to say about our culture, a culture that fights against war,” the frontman Oleg Psyuk explained on the red carpet. “It’s important for us to be able to say about Ukraine, to say about war, to say about our culture, a culture that fights against war.”

While OneRepublic sang their song “I Ain’t Worried,” which was included in the film Top Gun: Maverick, British rapper Stormzy sang the ballad “Fire Babe.”
