Man Dead In Shooting At Washington Heights On Wednesday night

On Wednesday night, a 44-year-old man was shot and killed in the Washington Heights neighbourhood of Manhattan.

At before 10 p.m., police were sent to the area of West 163rd Street and Riverside Drive in response to a 911 call reporting an attack. Upon arrival, they found the victim with gunshot wounds to the head and chest.

At Lincoln Hospital, where he was taken by EMS, the man was pronounced dead. No one has been taken into custody.

His identity has not been made public pending notification of his relatives. A police representative said they have no other information to share.

Two men were shot and died in the Bronx and Manhattan on Wednesday night, authorities said. The shootings occurred within about five hours of each other.

The initial report of gunfire in the Tremont neighbourhood of the Bronx was received by police around 5:20 p.m. Around the intersection of East 176th Street and Anthony Avenue, they discovered a 21-year-old guy who had been shot in the chest.

Police said the victim was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital, but he later succumbed to his wounds there.

About 10 minutes before midnight, authorities in Manhattan reported a second gunfire in the Washington Heights neighbourhood.

At the corner of Riverside Drive and West 163rd Street, police responded to reports of an ongoing attack and found a 44-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds to the head and chest.

A medical crew rushed the victim to Lincoln Hospital, but it was too late.

Victims’ identities were withheld Wednesday night pending notification of their families. To date, no arrests have been made, but police are still investigating the incidents.
