Ambassador Hotel

Dahmer, who was living with his grandmother in West Allis at the time, met Steven Tuomi, a 25-year-old from Ontonagon, Michigan, in a bar on November 20, 1987. He convinced Tuomi to accompany him to the Ambassador Hotel in Milwaukee, where he had rented a room for the night.

Dahmer claims that he didn’t intend to kill Tuomi, but rather to drug him and lie next to him while he explored his body. The following morning, however, Dahmer discovered Tuomi lying on the bed beneath him, his chest “crushed in” and his body “black and blue” from bruises.

Blood dripping from Dahmer’s mouth, and his fists and one forearm were badly bruised. Dahmer told investigators he “could not believe this had happened” and that he had no recollection of killing Tuomi.

Dahmer bought a large suitcase to use for dumping Tuomi’s remains at his grandmother’s house. A week later, he went back to the same spot and removed the head, arms, and legs from the trunk, filleted the bones out of the body, and then cut the flesh into manageable chunks. Dahmer followed this by stuffing the body parts into trash bags.

His method involved placing the bones in a sheet and smashing them with a sledgehammer. Dahmer spent about two hours dismembering his victim. With the exception of Tuomi’s severed head, he threw away his body.
