Who, if anyone, can stop Jon Rahm? Being the third official PGA Tour tournament in less than a month, this week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational poses this topic more than any other.

After winning the Genesis Invitational and its $3.6 million prize, Rahm became the new world number one golfer. With the victory, he was once again ranked one in the world in golf.

Rahm will be competing for the Bay Hill title against two other former No. 1s, Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy. After successfully defending his WM Phoenix Open title, Scheffler momentarily returned to the top rank. He overtook McIlroy that week, but eventually fell to second place behind Rahm.

It should be an exciting week of golf with the No. 1 seed and an additional $20 million just on line. The Arnold Palmer International will air on Golf Channel on NBC in the United States, and it will be streamed live on PGA Tour Live via ESPN+ and Peacock.

Tiger Woods, in 2003, became the first man since Gene Sarazen’s 1930 Miami Open victory to win the same event four times in a row. He beats Kirk Triplett, Stewart Cink, Kenny Perry, & Brad Faxon by a score of 11.

In 2005, Kenny Perry beat off Vijay Singh and Graeme McDowell to take first place. Before to Singh’s double bogey on the 72nd hole, Perry & Singh were in a tie for first place.

In 2008, Tiger Woods defeated Bart Bryant by one stroke after making a birdie putt from 25 feet on the 72nd hole.

For Woods, This Is His Sixth Straight Tournament Victory And His Fifth At Bay Hill

Tiger Woods has won Bay Hill for the sixth time overall and the second year in a row in 2009. He wins by one stroke over Sean O’Hair thanks to a birdie on the 72nd hole.

Tiger Woods has not won a PGA Tour tournament since September 13, 2009, but in 2012, he broke a 27-event winless streak by taking home his eighth Arnold Palmer Invitational title.

For the first period since October 2010, Tiger Woods is ranked first after winning the Arnold Palmer International for a record eighth time in 2013. He also became the first player since 2001 to make three eagles in a single tournament.

In 2014, with Woods having withdrawn, all eyes were on Adam Scott, the world’s number two golfer. In spite of his early dominance, Scott faltered in the final round and wound up tied for third place, behind Keegan Bradley as well as the first PGA Tour champion Matt Every.

In 2015, Matt Every made a birdie putt from 18 feet on the 72nd round to win the Arnie Palmer Invitational by one stroke over Henrik Stenson.

A double eagle was made by Daniel Berger in the third round at the par-5 sixth hole, the first time it had happened at the tournament since it was transferred to East Lake in 1979. In the final round, Zach Johnson accomplished the same feat on the par-5 16th hole.
