Deltarune Chapter 2 will be released on September 17 at 8 p.m. ET, as announced by Toby Fox, the acclaimed developer behind Undertale. True, in less than two days, players will finally be able to dive into the game’s highly anticipated second chapter.
It’s been a while since the last chapter came out—nearly three years! Fox made the announcement during an Undertale anniversary Livestream, which caused Deltarune to become a trending topic on Twitter. It is unclear if Fox’s previous promise that all of the game’s chapters would come out simultaneously has been rescinded.
The game’s official website has revealed not only the release date but also details about the new chapter’s compatibility with data from the previous one.
The only way to transfer data from Deltarune Chapter 1 is to have completed the game, which is done by rolling credits and sleeping in the player’s bed at the end of the chapter.
Chapter 2 can be enjoyed without the need for saving data if the player has switched computers within the last three years. As long as “you generally remember what happened story-wise,” you’ll be fine, Fox says.
When Will Deltarune 2 Be Available?
On September 17, 2021, at 8 p.m. Eastern, the second chapter of Deltarune will be released for Windows and macOS. For those of you not on the East Coast, that’s 7 p.m. Central, 6 p.m. Mountain, and 5 p.m. Pacific.

What Is The Procedure For Sending My Deltarune Chapter 1 Save File?
You’ll need a Mac or PC that already has completion data in order to play. If you watch the closing credits of Chapter 1, a completion report will be generated. As soon as the final buzzer sounds, you’ll need to head to bed.
Your progress in Deltarune Chapter 1 from other platforms, such as the Switch or PS4, will not be carried over. Fox, however, assures us that this will not detract significantly from the story. In the chapter 2 FAQ, he writes:
Every decision you make in Deltarune Chapter 1 is a waste of time, as you are told over and over again by the game’s dialogue. When compared to Undertale, where seemingly insignificant decisions like whether or not to buy a donut at a bake sale can have far-reaching consequences, this is a radical change.
It appears that, unlike its predecessor, Deltarune will not have wildly different story routes, though existing save data may experience minor tweaks.

Deltarune Chapter 2 Gameplay
The video game Deltarune is real, and it plays a lot like Undertale, but it’s going to be much more challenging.
With so many different kinds of attacks and tricks, the developers are constantly working to make this chapter more exciting for players.
- The gameplay of chapter two will be more complex than Untertale.
- The random Encounter system will be discontinued.
- It is expected that enemies can be easily observed in the field.
- It will consist more of puzzle and bullet-hell segments.
This is not the actual gameplay, but rather our best guess at what will happen in the second chapter based on what happened in the first. Nothing has been said officially about the release or cancellation of the next chapter, so we’ll have to wait for the gameplay to arrive before we can judge its quality.

Where Can I Find Chapter 2 Of DELTARUNE For The Playstation 4, Xbox One, Or Nintendo Switch?
Fox hasn’t announced a release date for console ports just yet. However, Undertale can be played on all three consoles, and the prologue to Deltarune is available on the PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch. Expect Deltarune Chapter 2 to launch for PS4 and Switch in the near future.
While Chapter 1 debuted on Mac and PC, it wasn’t until three months later that it hit consoles. This means that the second chapter of Deltarune will be released for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in late 2021 or early 2022.
