D&D 5E, Spelljammer Will Be Available In Adventures In Space, Released This Summer!

D&D 5E, Spelljammer

Unlike any other D&D campaign setting, Spelljammer: Adventures in Space introduces the Astral Plane as a unique setting for the game. For those who have ever dreamed of a trip to another planet or galaxy, the Astral Plane is the place to go. spell jammers may travel through Wildspace, the Astral Sea, and other D&D multiverse worlds thanks to their magical abilities.

Players who want to create characters in the starlit regions of Wildspace and Astral Sea will find everything they need in this boxed set.

Mechanical gnomes, humanoid insects, hippo-headed beings, and plasmoids, D&D 5E’s “first character race where you are an ooze,” were among the playable character species teased. The deep-space environment includes locations such as floating towns, monster lairs tunneled into asteroids, and floating corpses of gods.

Boo’s Astral Menagerie, the second book in the set, will contain a bestiary of Spelljammer’s universe’s creatures, including space pirates, giant hamsters, and lunar and solar dragons. And, of course, there are alien clowns. Shudder.

How Long Is Spelljammer Academy Open?

How Does Spelljammer: Adventures In Space Appear?

Despite the fact that these volumes are smaller than normal, there is a bigger purpose for this. During the course of the game, there is a constant tug of war between what the players may access and what the DM requires in order to manage the game.

The DM can maintain track of their adventure, pull out creature stat blocks where necessary, and then every player at the table can have free access to the Astral Adventurer’s Guide, which is a supplement to the core rulebook. An elegant answer to a problem I’ve encountered at the table as both a party member and the DM. This collection comes with a lovely slipcase, a map, and a DM screen as well.

  • Julian Kok Joon Wen for the Standard Cover DM Screen
  • Justin Gerard for the Standard Boo’s Astral Menagerie
  • Bruce Bernneise for the Standard Astral Adventurer’s Guide
  • Ekaterina Burmak for the Standard Light of Xaryxis

  • Jedd Chevrier for the Alternate Cover DM Screen
  • Hydro74 for the Alternate editions of the three books

Do Not Conceive Of It As An “Untold Chapter” Or A “Reboot,” Since It Is Not

While the Spelljammer announcement was the most comprehensive, the official revelation of Dragonlance’s return to D&D is undoubtedly the most intriguing reveal. A post-event Q&A with D&D’s Executive Producer Ray Winninger presented a wealth of information about what we may expect from the revival of the classic setting, despite the fact that little was displayed during the presentation.

The tabletop sourcebook, which will be released later this year, will include both an adventure module named Shadow of the Dragon Queen and a setting guide, comparable to recent D&D books like the MTG crossover Strixhaven: A Curriculum of Chaos or 2019’s Eberron: Rising from the Last War.
