After all the relentless leaks and rumors about the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3, the Chinese manufacturer has now made the slider flagship smartphone official.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 features a FHD+ AMOLED display with a 93% screen-to-body ratio. The Mi Mix 3 also sports with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 SoC alongside a 6GB/8GB/10GB of RAM.
The 10GB RAM will be available in “Forbidden City (Palace Museum)” limited edition model of Mi Mix 3. It will also support a 10W wireless Qi charger.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 3’s slider display design can be slid down to reveal the hidden dual-lens front-facing selfie snapper (24MP main and 2MP depth sensing). The Mi Mix 3’s design looks much more practical than the Oppo Find X’s motorized slide-up mechanism. The Mi Mix 3 will also ship with a 12MP + 12MP dual-sensors rear-facing camera system.
“Mi MIX 3’s patented slider incorporates neodymium magnets that have been carefully calibrated,” said Xiaomi in the press release. “Once the screen is pushed down, the magnetic mechanism immediately kicks in and finishes the opening in a snap with just the right amount of force.”
According to Xiaomi, it “has dedicated substantial resources to the production process to ensure the slider has a life expectancy of 300,000 cycles in lab tests.”
As for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 release date and prices, the flagship will hit the Chinese market on November 1, 2018.As with the global version, there’s no word on when it will be released in other countries, though the company has said that a 5G variant will be available at a later date.
The 6GB RAM model comes with a 128GB of on-board storage will be available for $475, while the 8GB RAM version will set you back $575 and the “Forbidden City” model which comes with 10GB and 256GB internal storage is price at $720.
Along with the ceramic Forbidden City limited edition, the Mi Mix 3 will also be available in Onyx Black, Jade Green and Sapphire Blue colorways.
