Xiaomi Black Shark is one of hardcore gaming smartphones to release this month in the wake of the Razer Phone‘s arrival. The Black Shark features a powerful specs sheet and among others. The Xiaomi’s sub-brand isn’t stopping there, as today it launches the successor the the gaming smartphone, the Black Shark Helo.
The screen display arguably sees the vital upgrade, as Xiaomi swaps completely ditches the LCD and opt for a 6-inch AMOLED technology. It’s still got a notch-less design with a resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 pixels. The shift to the OLED panel means gamers should expect a deep blacks and power efficiency than the predecessor.
The Black Shark Helo ships with an Iris mobile video CPU to deliver image quality enhancements. But the Pixelworks has also added the capability to seamlessly convert SDR to HDR.
According to Xiaomi, the Black Shark Helo also include Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 SoC, 6GB/8GB/10GB RAM, 128GB to 256GB of ROM. It also comes with a 4,000mAh battery, front-firing stereo speakers, sans headphone jack. Xiaomi also equip Black Shark Helo with a dedicated hardware key to activate performance mode.
Moreover, Xiaomi also debuted a Gamer Studio feature in the Black Shark Helo. As for camera department, it will hit the market with dual-lens rear-facing camera (12MP+20MP, f/1.75), and a 20MP f/1.75 selfie snapper.
As for Black Shark Helo release date, preorders and prices, it will initially go on sale in Chinese market and starts shipping on October 30th. The Black Shark Helo starts at 3,199 yuan ($461 USD) for the base 6GB/128GB model, and 3,499 yuan ($504 USD) for the 8GB/128GB version. As with the pricing for the 10GB/256GB Black Shark Helo model, there has no official words yet.
