Huawei is prepping up to launch the Honor Magic 2 smartphone. Huawei’s subsidiary brand has already confirmed that the Honor Magic 2 will hit the shelves with a manual slider design with nearly 100% screen-to-body ratio similar to the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3.
The front appearance of the Honor Magic 2 has already been revealed in the promotional posters, but the back-end design remains under blanket. A leaked render images of the Honor Magic 2 has emerged on popular Chinese social media revealing a sheet of glass panel quad-lens camera system.
As seen on the images below, the alleged render of the Honor Magic 2 does look alluring, but should be taken with a grain of salt because of the fact that it might be just an artist render. The purported image shows the device in two color schemes. The Honor Magic 2 on the bottom is just a pure black, while the other one seems to exhibit a gradient of blue to purple color scheme.
The rear design and color gradient scheme of the Honor Magic 2 reminds us of the Huawei P20 series and Nova series. The Huawei P20 Pro features a vertically mounted triple-lens camera setup on the rear. The third shooter is separately mounted from the twin camera lenses. In the similar implementation, the render appears that the Honor Magic 2’s triple-cameras are separately mounted above the fourth sensor.
Huawei appears to skipped from releasing a triple-cameras and jump straight to quad-camera on the back panel. The Korean OEM Samsung has recently launched the Galaxy A9 (2018) being touted as the world’s first smartphone with quad-camera system on the back. So, it is more likely that Huawei is releasing the Honor Magic 2 with four cameras to undercut Samsung’s mid-range restructuring efforts.
he Honor Magic 2 will reportedly ship with Samsung-manufactured AMOLED display, an in-display fingerprint reader and Face Unlock. The Magic 2 is also said to equip with graphene-based battery with 40W fast charging support.
