Apple iPhone XS and iPhone XS Plus alongside an LCD-equipped cheaper model to launch on Wednesday, September 12th.
Apple is slated to hold the biggest launch event in the mobile industry this year. The trillion-dollar technology company is about to introduce the new iPhone lineups (iPhone XS, iPhone XS Plus and iPhone 9/SE) – it’s Apple’s most important consumer electronic product to date.
There are bunch of facts we know for sure: Apple will hold the special launch event in its new and state-of-the-art Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park in Cupertino, California. CEO Tim Cook will spend more time boasting off huge numbers that establish Apple’s record-breaking success. There all be few classic light jokes and a plethora of grand-pronouncing adjectives. And all will be seen when Apple kick off the 2018 iPhone launch event at 10 A.M. on Wednesday, 12th of September.
What will matter the most are the handheld consumer electronic products, and here’s what our outlet think they might be. All will be answered when Apple takes the center stage, which you can follow live with The Velvetiere.
iPhone XS & iPhone XS Plus
The highly anticipated, and the newsmaker of the special launch event. It will without a question be the big thing, should leaks and speculations are to be believed: we’ll not only get an upgraded specs to the iPhone X this 2018, but also a much bigger flagship smartphone of that same refresh, equivalent to the recent Plus models.
The jaw-dropping features and internal specs of that handset are mostly unknown: while there have been confirmed leaks of details regarding the top-of-the-line model, they have largely been minor and not especially gripping. That could partly be because the Cupertino-headquartered tech giant is being more secretive each year, but it could also simply mean because there isn’t interesting about the new iPhones.
But the aesthetic design of the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Plus, and their respective marketing name, were spoiled last week, apparently by Apple itself accidentally making secret marketing materials (official press images) available in the wild. The company showed that the iPhone will be available in gold color variant, and is called the XS (10 S).
Although it’s just a very minute leaked, it mean something big in the industry and it’s the first big leak to date about the 2018 iPhones. But it was also quite interesting in what it didn’t reveal: there was no complete nor minimal redesign, no revision to the OLED screen display, no special new features has been emerged. All of that appeared to indicate that it will be very much an “S” cycle for this line, packing in all the latest technology that’s new internally and addressing a bit to the outside.
Will There Be iPhone 8S or 9?
The 8S or iPhone 9 – or whatever it is named – is a bit more of an unknown product. What we do know so far is that it will take the general aesthetic design of the iPhone X but remove a number of its more premium specs such as the OLED display panel, that it will be roughly in the middle of the iPhone XS and XS Plus in terms of display dimension, and that it will be the more affordable of the new handset.
We don’t know what it will be named, or how the company will position the strange little and mid-range device. All that remains to be determined on September 12 when Apple releases them, pending any more embarrassing internal leaks.
Apple Watch Series 4
The Apple Watch could potentially be the real long-shot of the special product launch event: it won’t get the overwhelming attention of the iPhone, of course, but it appears set for much more utmost and fascinating redesign.
Leaked images has revealed that the display could wrap across the entire front of it. In a year of such a radical redesign, its unlikely there will be any more new changes to the internal specs or features. The Apple Watch 4 will get a faster processor but not get anything much besides that. However, it will be the first time that the Apple Watch has been redesigned since it was first release, dating way back in 2014.
The avant-garde innovation might not be in the impending handheld electronic products at all, but the accessories that ship alongside them.
The most thrilling accessory among them will be the AirPower, Apple’s long-promised innovative charging mat for iPhones and Apple Watches. The AirPower was first introduced at the iPhone X launch event last year, with the promise that it would be coming soon on the market – but it’s not pushing through. It should be introduced at this special media event.
Moreover, there could also be an updates to the AirPods wireless earphones. At the very least of the event, the AirPods will need a new case that will allow them to charge through the AirPower wireless charging mat, but it’s highly possible that they will have an additional features as well.
New iPad Pro
Apple’s computing tablet lineup is scheduled to receive an upgrade, too, and it looks that one will be available very soon.
There have been strong indications that the company is prepping up a new refresh of iPad Pro. With that said, it has brought the iPad more towards the way the iPhone X works – adapting a number of the actions and ways users navigate the iOS interface without a physical home button – leading many to propose that Apple will eventually bring the same radical design changes to the iPad tablet line as well.
That will mean slimming down and getting rid of the bezels around the screen display, and completely ditching out the home button.
iPhone XS Release Date
As far as the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Plus release date is your concern, the launch event of the 2018 new iPhones is taking place on 12th of September 2018, which means pre-orders will probably open a two days later on 14 September.
Last year, there were some setbacks in getting the iPhone X to the market, with the company waiting a months before taking pre-orders.
