Cristiano Ronaldo and The La Roja will try to claim their first win in Group Stage at Russia World Cup 2018 against the Selecção das Quinas' team. Here’s all you need to know about FIFA World Cup 2018.1 min

Longtime nemesis Portugal and Spain will take the center stage on Friday, June 15, at the second match of Group B in the FIFA World Cup 2018. The neighboring European nation, with a bunch of familiar professional football players and similar manners, go to a clash in what is plausibly the most highly-awaited groups stage contest of the tournament.

With the first game in Group B — Iran vs. Morocco — this is a contest that will put the winner as the strong favorite to win the bracket, while a draw will leave both teams susceptible to a shocking upset and potential premature exit from World Cup 2018 tournament. For the defeated club, they shouldn’t expect positive outcome.

Spain enters this match in a pretty good shape, but the La Roja is widely anticipated to be without defender Dani Carvajal, who has just came back to the training. Carvajal isn’t expected to play in their campaign opener, though.

As for Portugal, on the other side of the gridiron, the Selecção das Quinas is healthy and led by the internationally renowned football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, who just won his third consecutive Champions League title with the Real Madrid. There are no notable injuries for the defending Euro 2016 champions.

The “Selection of the Quinas” all set to go head-to-head with The Roja, a side their head coach Fernando Santos, describes as “the strongest team in the pool, on paper”.

Spain are driven by a determined superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, are hopeful of putting the memory of their very early exit at Brazil in the 2014 World Cup behind them.

This is the match in the football world have had circled on the calendar since the official schedule was out in the wild, as it sets the reigning European champions against the 2010 World Cup champs.
