After sweeping the Oklahoma City Thunder with 4-2 winning streak in the first round elimination of the 2018 NBA Playoffs, the Utah Jazz is moving up to take on the Houston Rockets in the Western Conference Semifinals.
The Houston Rockets had the best record so far in the league and tied for the best home record, and the team will enjoy their earned home court advantage by hosting the Jazz beginning Sunday with Game 1 of their second-round 2018 NBA playoff series live all the way at the Toyota Center in Houston.
The Houston Rockets are the top-ranked Western Conference ball club, coming off a 4-1 series victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves led by its MVP front-runner James Harden.
This is a rivalry emerge in the Western Conference, dating way back to 1985. These organization have met seven times in the postseason, with Utah Jazz leading the playoff series 5-2. However, the two times the Houston Rockets defeat the Jazz in the postseason playoffs, they went on to secure the NBA Championship.
The Houston just eliminated Aaron Brooks and his Timberwolves team. Paul Millsap is playing for the Denver Nuggets and completely missed the playoffs.
The Rockets were 34-7 at home this 2017-18 NBA season, and have managed to win 23 of their last 24 contests at their home, including winning three times at Toyota Center against the Timberwolves in the opening round.
The Utah Jazz entered the second round after dispatching the OKC Thunder in Game 6, led by rookie Donovan Mitchell, who averaged 28.5 points and 7.2 boards. The Rockets won all four regular season games against Jazz in the regular season.
This is the eighth playoff series between the Houston Rockets and Utah Jazz, but the first since the 2008 Round 1 series.
