The reigning champion Golden State Warriors took care of the San Antonio Spurs in the opening Round 1 series of the NBA playoffs and will now meet the New Orleans Pelicans in the second round. Both ball clubs have faced each other in the 2015 NBA postseason, with the Golden State defeated the New Orleans.
The New Orleans Pelicans will be playing their Game 1 of their second-round series in the 2018 NBA Playoffs against the Golden State Warriors at the latter’s home court — the Oracle Arena at 9:30 p.m on Saturday, April 28.
The Pelicans advanced to the western conference semifinals after elimination the Portland Trail Blazers in their Round 1 knock off series, while the Warriors cut short the San Antonio Spurs’ hope to reach the Finals with a 4-1 series victory.
The New Orleans Pelicans lost three of its four regular-season games against the Golden State Warriors, but it won 126-120 at Oracle Arena on April 7 to pick up the franchise’s first road win against defending NBA champions since way back in 2012.
Warriors superstar Stephen Curry, who has sidelined since March 23 after sustaining a left MCL sprain, is listed as questionable going into Game 1 of the conference semis against the Pelicans and the point guard’s health status will be known after his organization holds its shoot-around Saturday morning.
Going back to the regular season, the Pelicans have won nine consecutive games.
