With huge sales and deep discounts at nearly every national retailer in the United States, Black Friday 2017 — the day after Thanksgiving Thursday. Black Friday long been coined as one of the best time of the year for purchasing new gadgets, home appliances or just about anything.
But it won’t be all big savings on deals during the Turkey Day holiday shopping sale season. Follow this our tips and guide to dodge the not so great and get only the best deals this Black Friday on November 24.
What To Buy On Black Friday 2017?
In the recent years, major discount retailers including Walmart, Target and Best Buy offers huge discounts on Apple products on Black Friday, and previous-iteration models drastically see the most substantial deals. These promotions may include steep price slashes, free store gift cards or a bundle of both. This year though, look for deals on Apple MacBooks,iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches and Apple TVs.
Best Buy allocated an entire web page of its early Black Friday deals to Apple devices. All iPad and MacBook including the 2017 models comes with $125 to $200 price cut, and the Apple Watch Series 1 started at only $198.
Black Friday is also for gamers just as much as it is for the general consumers. This year’s Black Friday though, look for discounts on video game consoles and video game titles from chains such as Walmart Best Buy, Target and GameStop. Shoppers will certainly see best offers on gaming systems bundles this year. Traditionally, these include the game console itself whether an Xbox One or PS4 plus a combination of video game titles and controllers.
Last year, video game retailer GameStop took $50 direct discounts on both the Gears of War Xbox One S Blue 500GB Bundle and the Uncharted 4 500GB PlayStation 4 Bundle (regularly price at $299.99 each). For this year, we are expecting to see gaming bundles to be on sale for $249.99.
This year is the right time to make an acquisition on 4K Smart UHD TV. Last year, Walmart was offering a $125 32-inch TCL Roku HDTV from November 1st until Christmas. Walmart’s doorbuster that time was a 40-inch Element or Hisense HDTV and it’s not even a 4K model. For this year, all of the retailers are offering 4K Smart UHD TVs with the cheapest television sets from brands like Element, Vizio and TCL. Some 4K TVs from popular name brands like Samsung, LG, Hisense, Toshiba and Sharp have also seen a significantly affordable prices.
Smartphones and Tablets
No matter where you choose to spend your money on Black Friday, you’re almost guaranteed to find smartphone and tablet doorbusters. These handheld devices deal are also the ones to keep an eye out this year. Last year, some national big box retailers offered additional gift cards up to $250 with a qualifying phone purchase on an installment plan. This year, we’ve seen offers from Sam’s Club, Walmart, Best Buy and Target offering the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, Galaxy S8, S8 and Note 8 with free $300 store gift cards.
There is no secret here. Black Friday is the best time to purchase big home appliances. After all, Black Friday is well-known for consumer electronics and its offers of huge discounts on home entertainment appliances, refrigerators, washers, dryers and major kitchen appliances. Look for similar steep discounts again this year.
Last year, Sears offered a Kenmore washer and dryer were on sale for $274.99 each when customers purchased the pair. That was a 49 percent off on the pair. Consumer electronics giant retailer Best Buy was offering up to 40 percent off major appliance top deals, and guests got a free Keurig K525 coffee brewer with purchase of two or more major appliances totaling $2,000 and up.
If you’re in the market for smaller appliances expect noteworthy this year from department retailers such as Kohl’s, J.C. Penney, Kmart and Macy’s.
What To Skip On Black Friday 2017?
Toys are one of the seasonal purchases, but you may like to make up your mind before finalizing your must buy and wish list this Black Friday. It is proven based on the past several years to wait until closer to Christmas to buy toys like dolls, action figures and play sets. You run the risk that a particular item will sell out, but you may also be able to find bigger savings on what’s left on the shelves.
In 2016, in the final few days prior to Christmas, select toys were on sale for as much as 50 percent discounts.
Christmas Decors & Ornaments
You have likely seen the blowout post-Christmas clearance sales every year beginning on December 26 as you made your way to the bricks and mortar stores to return an item you purchased. That’s when Christmas decorations, tinsel and other seasonal ornaments reach mega low price tags.
Linens and Bedding
The lowest prices on bedding and linens have been known to emerge in January during the so called “white sales,” so hold off until next year. Savings at this time can range from 50% to 75%. January 2017 sales on bedding took place at department stores such as Macy’s, Kmart, Kohl’s and Overstock.
