It the new report is to be believed, then the Cupertino-based technology giant’s next iteration top-of-the-line handset phone will be available for purchase in just a week after the announcement of the iPhone 8 in a special launch media event on Tuesday, September 12, and few weeks from now. Considering that the Apple’s iPhone product line yearly release cycle, this latest news isn’t that hard to believe at all.
Back in September of 2016, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus was unveiled on September 7 and was officially hit the market on September 16. Meanwhile, a couple of years ago, in 2015, the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus was launched on the 9th of September and made available for purchase on the 25th of the same month. In other verbatim, the Cupertino takes the unveiling on a new line of iPhones in the the last month of the third quarter of the year and the release date falls sometime in the later half.
Regarding with Geskin’s track record, particularly for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ smartphones, the claimed release date of the iPhone 8 isn’t not much of a stint.
Still, by the end of the day, it’s still just a rumor and should be taken this latest report with a proverbial grain of salt.
As for brand name, some rumors and speculations claims that the so-called iPhone 8 isn’t even going to be branded as the iPhone 8. Up until Apple unveil it, the next-iteration flagship will be named the iPhone X, and will be out alongside less-impressive and incrementally upgraded iPhone 7s and 7s Plus. These are the possible monikers for the next-generation flagship: iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone Edition and iPhone X respectively.
Meanwhile, another source claimed to be close to the supply chains says that the iPhone 8 could be named the iPhone X. As for the two other models, they will be called the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.
The Apple iPhone 8 launch event is scheduled for September 12, and on an interesting exegesis, it’s going to be the first ever product that the tech titan will unveil at the Steve Jobs Theater in its spaceship-esque campus, Apple Park, expectedly alongside the likes of the Apple Watch Series 3 and an refresh Apple TV.
